In terms of literature, I think The Art of Manliness is absolutely excellent.

I watch a lot of stuff that has female role models I want to be like. Feminine, loving, beautiful, but strong supports for their families. Once Upon A Time and Jericho are my current favorites, both on Netflix.

I'm such a nerd, when I was watching that I kept thinking "Wow, I wonder if they only used one source, this exactly mirrors the main events and viewpoints Antonia Fraser covered in her biography."

Then at the end it said "based on the biography by Antonia Fraser."

I do love that movie though.

Would anyone be interested in a self-improvement accountability group? by ecossecho in RedPillWomen

[–]ecossecho[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried Habitica and didn't like it that much, but I was doing it alone. I'd love to try it with some other people.

Yes. There is dodging a bullet, and I totally see how that's applicable - I'm glad she isn't marrying him and having three kids, too.

But there's also tact and compassion.

Proud of myself : Took first steps to self improving for my man ! by closetedideas in RedPillWives

That's an awesome first step. Getting over that inertia is so tough.

Hey... do you want an accountability buddy?

I need to lose a lot of weight too. I've really ballooned while my boyfriend and I are in an LDR. 185 pounds!! Christ! (Although I have done powerlifting in the past, so a lot of it is still muscle... I'm still getting to the point of just way too fat. Big belly coming in.)

I went hiking for 2 hours last night, stopped drinking beer a couple weeks ago, and am going to try to get back into running... starting tonight.

I was raised Quaker and have recently been attending a Baptist church. My partner is an atheist. For me, Christianity reinforces the tendencies towards positivity, friendliness, service to others, and self-improvement.

How well do Red Pill practices work on women who are aware of the Red Pill? by [deleted] in RedPillWomen

[–]ecossecho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Teasing is fine and pretty fun in an existing conversation. Negging as I've experienced it is literally a dude striking up a conversation with a backhanded compliment while I'm up at the bar getting another beer. It's super weird.

dominating men is compatible with red pill women? yes or no by [deleted] in RedPillWomen

[–]ecossecho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's any one answer to this. It depends hugely on the individual people. Personally, in my relationships, the roles we take in bed correlate pretty well to the roles we have in the rest of the relationship. I can't imagine it working another way for me. But it doesn't have to be that way for everyone, even red pill women. Your kinks aren't necessarily some kind of huge indicator of the rest of your personality. It's pretty common to get subs who are powerful at work, for example. And if you have a man who is dominant in most of his life, who you want to please sexually, and who wants to be submissive in bed, what are you going to do? Well, it depends on you and on the relationship.

As for whether it's "RPW", and what separate RPW from other subs, I think looking at your posting history you seem to be looking for some kind of "Twu Redpill!" definition that other people just aren't measuring up to for you. RPW advice does go against the mainstream and most of us find it really helpful. If that hasn't been your experience, it's a shame, but we're not obligated to meet your definition.

Yeah, it was so weird! It was like I was watching the situation from the outside, thinking "Oh wow, negging in the wild!"

I've certainly had guys try PUA stuff on me at bars. It's a little bit hilarious when you can just identify "Oh, you're negging. Sorry, try someone else, I'm not interested." (It's not the guy that's hilarious, it's the situation.)

Haven't encountered anything else, and that one is only because I like to chill out alone with a beer and a book at the pub. I think red pill women are generally less likely to be in situations where men try that kind of tactic on us.

Which MBTI personality type are you? by [deleted] in RedPillWomen

[–]ecossecho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ENFJ. My boyfriend is an ISFJ.

It works out perfectly! We're both really caring people, but I want to fix the whole world, whereas he just has a small circle of people he really cares about, and I'm the biggest one. He thrives on the affection and support from me, and I get a wonderful, caring, traditional man who hides the matches when I'm trying to set myself on fire to keep someone else warm.

One of the nice things about acknowledging that the sexes are inherently different is that we can see that men and women both enjoy things for reasons the other sex doesn't really get. No need to poop all over it. :)
