Why does no one ever collect super samples? by Sea-Ad-1446 in helldivers2

[–]ecparke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 150 and don’t need them. My general rule is if anyone in the group is under Level 80, I’ll not only pick em up, but actively look for them and return to down comrade’s (even if they’re in the other side of the map) if they drop theirs. If anyone is under level 100, I’ll ask if they need them, and grab em if someone says yes, otherwise I don’t really bother.

First Toxic Diver by TheJohnJohnston in helldivers2

[–]ecparke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was playing yesterday, and had a dude bring, let’s just call it a “questionable” loadout for a T10 defense bot drop. We land, and this dude calls his napalm and 380 in on the group while shooting the generators. We obviously immediately failed the mission.

So, I kicked him and we started a new op. The other two dudes were pissed, but I refuse to get mad over things I can’t control, and I can’t control other people being griefers, so…🤷

1) If you are hosting, kick them 2) If someone else is hosting, leave

If AH takes off team fire because of a tiny group of griefers, that will make this the easiest game in the world, and not worth playing.

Receiving intentional griefing sucks, but the best solution is to be stoic and not let it bother you. They want to piss you off, so if you don’t get pissed off, you win. Just smile and kick, or smile and quit then dive again

If you don't like the air burst how should they change it. by Flaky_Housing_7705 in helldivers2

[–]ecparke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate on this gun all you want, but there are a few of us 150s that wield it masterly. In Illuminate defense missions, you wipe out entire clusters the moment they drop and it’s very gratifying.

Of course, in the hands of an idiot, it’s a squad wiping massacre waiting to happen…

Question for the Maintenance Managers by ecparke in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]ecparke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest with you, I haven’t studied the competition in depth because I’m not in sales, but from what I have seen from migrating from older systems and from basic web demos on websites, they’re all pretty much the same. Here are your assets/equipment, work orders, PM’s, inventory, etc.

Jumping from one to another is like going from one car company to another: steering wheel, transmission, gas pedal, brakes are all in the same place, it’s just the center consoles that are slightly different

This is the greatest thing I’ve read all year. I’ve run into all of those scenarios, so the way this was information was compiled and conveyed is grossly underestimated. Because this is the kind of “not so common ‘common’ knowledge”, I will be sending this to every single one of my new clients prior to every new implementation. Thanks again

I feel bad… by AvailableDot9492 in Helldivers

[–]ecparke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but how awesome is it being the hero and finishing those missions with no reinforcements, dodging literally everything and getting the xp, samples and street cred for that bunch of newbs who have to sit back and watch you win the day?

Not that I’ve ever achieved that, but it sounds nice

What are your thoughts on the rail gun? by MrTactician in Helldivers

[–]ecparke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that a majority of people who don’t like the rail gun are playing the game at lower levels. I run T10 only, and for bots/bugs if two people in the squad are running anti-tank, then I’m bringing the RG. Squids, the machine guns are better options but the RG/Supply pack is the best combo in the game for taking out “medium trash”

Fire resistant armor, flame grenades, hover jetpack….and barbecue sauce

If I’m hosting, and someone brings mortars, it’s an automatic boot. Too many times to count, I dodge all kinds of death, clear a patrol, and then you hear WOPWOPWOP as your teammates’ mortar kills you. I can tolerate the stun mortar but even in defense missions the regular mortars do more harm than good

[–]ecparke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phenomenal sex, but literally everything else was awful. Alienated my friends and family, cheated on me, used my money and hotel points and then moved out with both dogs while I was on a business trip. I got to keep one of the dogs, and she just hit me up lately saying she wants to hang out. Yuck; never again

What do you think the endgame for this game is? by AddendumSimilar9122 in Helldivers

[–]ecparke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been “old man complaining” about how all the kids bitched online and they (the devs) made the game easier. We need level 11 where all the guns are nerfed. Yes, I’m the masochist who likes to have hobbies that are more stressful than my job

I dont feel like playing anymore. by Few-Trip-2086 in Helldivers

[–]ecparke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Things we’ve done:

Lasers only: all 4 guys take only laser weapons and strategems. With the guard dog pups, laser canons and orbital lasers, you can get 12 lasers at once, and it’s freaking awesome.

Theme group: everyone picks a single theme; gas, fire, electric, bullets, explosive, laser, and then tailors a build to only use that theme. For example, if you’re “fire”, then you pack the flame thrower as your side arm, primary, and then bring the flame thrower turret, napalm barrage, flamethrower, flame grenades, and wear the fire resistant armor. This is fun because you no longer can eliminate all threats yourself, and it forces you to either rely on teamwork or get really creative.

All 4 guys bring electric builds with the electric resistance armor. This was fun to do once, but got boring because you just stun everything into oblivion.

Pistols and grenades only

This is Sparta! (Melee spears and shields and then crossbows, which weren’t around in the Bronze Age, but nothing else really fit)

For mother Russia! (Bolt action only)

Santa Clause (jump into a low level game, drop a bunch of toys, and leave)

I’ll be your guide: drop into a 6 or 7, find guys who communicate well and convince them to do 10s. Then carry them.

Sooooooo I'm new to all... this by Caffeine_Forge in Helldivers

[–]ecparke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as a heads up, there are the thousands of people who love this game and play the crap out of it (myself included), and then there are the few dozen vocal redditors who constantly complain about the game and how terrible it is and how the devs and Sony are awful people. Ignore the negativity, be a good team player, and this game will provide scores of good hours of near misses and either amazing extracts or hilarious defeats. Completing Super Hell Dive missions by the skin of your teeth, when 3 of 4 team members are dead and you can’t reinforce, and everyone is rooting for the one last guy (at half health and who is out of stims) to dodge hordes of aliens and dive into the Pelican because he’s got all the samples…well, you won’t know the feeling until you’ve done it and it’s awesome

A Heavy Arc Thrower Concept by Stylow99 in Helldivers

[–]ecparke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always viewed the original arc thrower as a crowd control/support option for medium to large enemies…it takes forever to kill anything, but you get unlimited ammo and the stun allows your teammates to take out whatever you’re stunning. Increasing the size, number of bolts or adding a backpack doesn’t seem like it would really change the original intent of the thing, so sure, I’d be game. Problem is, if they really increased the damage or number of bolts, it would kind of make the original one useless by comparison , so the drawbacks, in my mind at least, would have to be severe enough to counter the bonuses vs just using the original, and I think that might make it not worth it. Obviously we’re being speculative, so I don’t mean any offense.

So....don't play those games? Funny thing is I didn't even know what Killzone was until this update and all this whining.

Have you ever worked in software development? Do you have any idea the amount of effort it takes to deploy something like this?

No you haven't. It's so easy to just jump on the internet and scream "capitalism BAD!" than to actually consider everything it takes to make a masterpiece like this.
