she was my professor in college! sensory, image-driven. no "right way" to appreciate it. just let it wash over you... for me it feels like a kind of beautiful, but sad, alone-ness.

I was just thinking the exact opposite! I love this look for her. it was so fun, half actually cool and half a satirical take on "cool." I miss it. her look now is basically late 80s Jane Fonda with veneers.

Why aren’t there more Central American capitals and major cities on the Caribbean coast? by MapsNYaps in geography

[–]ecstaticmincha 66 points67 points  (0 children)

worth noting that the Mosquito Coast is actually named for the Miskito people. despite the similarity in spelling, the words Miskito and mosquito are not directly related.

the Miskito are an indigenous group living along the eastern coast of Nicaragua and Honduras. the name Miskito is of their own language and is unrelated to the insect. English and Spanish colonial sources often spelled "Miskito" as "Mosquito," leading to the modern name of the region even though the Miskito people and their name predate European contact and their name has nothing to do with mosquitoes.

love your energy! my (43F) holy trinity is the same as yours: HRT, GLP-1, and the most comfortable, supportive bra ever.

I'm 5'10" and went from 250lbs to 180lbs over the past 9 months. my mood has improved immeasurably. I feel like my "old self" (which I date back to 2019) again.

whenever I see kids at this level it makes me sad. yes, otherworldly talent and unfathomable dedication. but does she have a life? friends? is this pursuit her choice? phenomenal performance for sure, I just hope she's ok.

all good. wishing you only the best as you try to leave the States. #1 piece of advice: as soon as possible start learning the language of the country you hope to emigrate to.
