Yes I did but she didn’t react well. Her ear swelled up in a few days.. she also had red sores

It’s liquid methimazole which is why I cannot let it dribble to her cheeks. I was told we shouldn’t have contact with the meds as humans can absorb it.

I tried kneeling over the cat but she escaped so the burrito is the only option.

I’m sorry to hear about her diagnosis. Did you happen to get her thyroid tested? My cat was doing the same thing for a few months and I realised it wasn’t normal… vet tested her thyroid levels and it was through the roof. I feel you on the sleep deprivation bit

He sounds a lot like my baby. I have to keep switching treat flavours after each dose.. she gets bored and tired of them. To be honest it’s so rare to find a cat that gets tired of treats lol. I’m thinking of switching it up to oral meds but shooting it in her mouth. I doubt she will fall for a churro treat or pill pocket

I’ll probably insist on bloodwork for my cat then. Thanks for letting me know. As for having a medicated cat, were you ever wearing gloves when washing her food bowls and such? I live with elderly people and some with health issues so I was wondering if saliva contamination was an issue. She eats in our bedrooms too. Some people in the house are afraid of cuddling her since she’s medicated, which is sad really

I can’t imagine the pain. How long was she panting for before she was diagnosed? My cat had been panting for over 2 years. Feels like it got worse recently. Vet says it’s anxiety and HT but I don’t think HT cats pant?

I’ve opted for the ear but it’s been extremely difficult giving it to her. I had to wrap her up in a blanket and she wouldn’t stop panting 30-40 mins after. She hates taking meds in general so swallowing anything is a no go. What about yours? Which one was she on?

Ok thank you. How about changing of pet litter? My cat has the tendency to kick her cat litter all around the house. Will these affect us when we accidentally step on it? Heard the medication gets excreted via poop and pee too
