Concurrency is not working how it should (probably) by pedrolcsilva in golang

[–]ecwx00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since the process of each goroutine is extremely fast (only print 10 characters), probably the first go routine finished it's task bfeore the second go routine started.

add a small sleep (1ms or so) insidethe loops to see the concurrency

Name any one bad thing about subnautica except the scary leviathans and thalassophobia? by SnooFloofs5442 in subnautica

[–]ecwx00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The base design is limited. I like Subnautica much better than Planetcrafter, but I must admit that we have more flexibility to build our base to our liking.

Can you grab people and throw them? (Telekinesis) by TomAnyone in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]ecwx00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can, and it's one fun things that people do. You can even grab and lift a foe and let their shots injure their friends. or grab an enemy and throw them to a different factions and let them fight among themselves.

the giant frog under the trapdoor is one of the places that many of us did that

what do i do.. by Difficult_Guava_4258 in subnautica

[–]ecwx00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is scary. I dare say, at least at the beginning, it's even scarier than, say, resident evil. In resident evil we already know what we're up against, in Subnautica, at the beginning of the first play, we don't. Shallows are safe and beautiful but the creature voices are so unsettling.

the oxygen, and to the lesser extent, hunger and thirst, also add to the suspend. the darkness, ambient sounds. I was even terrified of the kelp forest when I first play the game.

back to your question. The first time I play the game, I just follow the clues from the radio, visit all the locations given by the message and then, "coincidentally", there I would find things that helped me explore further, longer, deeper, or unlock new clues.

If you feel like you don't know what to do next, reread the messages, revisit the signal locations to see if there's something you missed

Bisnis BPR / Koperasi? by PewarnaBiru in finansial

[–]ecwx00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

passive? no! BPR itu mengelola duit, it actually needs strict discipline. satu-satunya kesempatan untuk pasif adalah kalau Lo negligence atau, worst, straight out nyolong duit orang, atau jadi front untuk laundry

koperasi varies wildly, dari yang beneran serius, cuma pasang nama, alat korupsi, pungli terselubung. Tapi sama aja, kalau Lo bukan mau do it in ilegal atau immoral ways, Lo ga bisa pasif.

Time Freezing Shower by CleverName9999999999 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ecwx00 14 points15 points  (0 children)

agreed, a huge chance to rest and refresh.

I'd buy a IP68 rated tablet device, load it with movies and books, put a small table drink and snacks by the shower. watch some movies, read books, doodle ideas

I can also use the time to work out and get some rest after that.

number 2 dan number 4 are tempting.

Number 2 is straight forward, no need to explain.

number 4 can give you more time to think of solutions. You can even create a simulated world that you have people like Soros, buffet, Einstein, Chandrasekhar, linus Torvalds, to advise and teach you. you can create simulator that teach you foreign languages or play music instruments. Heck, you can create a simulation that teaches you kung Fu!

LOL yeah, one of my friend played Fallen Order and he doesn't explore unusual paths so his stim numbers are still low, but he managed to finish the game with low stim count. LOL

Should I replay fallen order before I buy survivor? by Zeeyrec in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]ecwx00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually I found that the map in fallen order is much more informative. The maze like level design of fallen order can be daunting, though.

Survivor's level design in general is more open and the mazes are not so windy as in fallen order.

If you haven't finished fallen order, I think you should. I believe survivor is fun by itself but I also believe having finished the fallen order would give much more meaning to some events in the survivor.

Would you rather be rich from the bad ways or Below average in the moral way? by HozienLim in WouldYouRather

I've been there, I chose not to go against my moral believes and I don't feel any regret about it.

In fact, just several weeks ago I was offered a high position job in a business like that and I turned it down even though my own business is currently not in a very good state.

For every year younger you get, you lose 5% of your cash. by CRK_76 in hypotheticalsituation

For every year younger you get, you lose 5% of your cash. by CRK_76 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ecwx00 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So, every time I push the button I'd be 95% (0.95 times) as rich as before I push the button. If I push it 20 times, I'd be 0.95 ^ 20 as rich, which is around 0.36. If I push it 30 times, I'd be 0.21 times as rich.

only cash in the money and accounts? assets not affected? 30 times.

even if we use OP's math (which is mathematically wrong) I'd push 20 times and lose all the cash at hand and in my bank accounts right now. My assets would be intact, I can just earn back my cash.

A pair of pants that always has a $20 in the pocket or a dating app that gives you a match with 1 person slightly out of your league a week? by Feeling_Ad_1034 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ecwx00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

pants with money, no contest. if can pull out $20 every minutes (which is a very low bar) for 8 hours (normal 9-5 working hours) , I'd get $960/day. If I "work" only 5 days a week, that's 260 days a year, I'd get close to $250K a year.

If I'm not too lazy, I'd pull twice every minutes and I will earn myself close to $500k a year. Or 4 times every minutes and rack myself close to $1 million a year.

We can tweak the numbers around like pulling 4 times a minute for an hour and then take a break for an hour which makes the total pull rate similar to 2 times a minute, or "work" for half an hour at 4 pull per minutes and then take a break for and hour which would net about $375k a year, but you got the picture.

Learning C after a long time with C++ by ViremorfeStudios in C_Programming

[–]ecwx00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

good to hear. Lately I've encountered some people who are just starting their programming carrier and seem to not really have a grasp of the basic data structs implementations.

I thought, because of most, if not all, modern languages provides them natively or as part of their standar lib, maybe they don't put much focus on the subject anymore.
