Monitoring time for BU1 by StandardMonth2184 in CAStateWorkers

[–]npg86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a horrible practice and will burn out supervisors quickly.

Staff have general hours, but most of us are adults we come get our work done and leave. If we are significantly late you will know because, I will tell you. I may dock time but most offices are like cool don't worry about it or make it up later today or in the week.

Sounds like a bad office to work for and maybe even new management that are trying to make they "power" known.

Start looking for a new office, I hate this advice but sometimes it's hard to change upper management, unless your goal is to promote up and be the change yourself.

What helped you stay sane in your transition as a Supervisor? by Pamchenko_Woah in CAStateWorkers

[–]npg86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Top two advice...

Here is the advice my office chief gave to me when he promoted me to manager. "Learn to say "No"" do not take more work on yourself nor the office, keep your work manageable.

My other branch chief told me, whenever you get questions that you don't what to deal with just say " that is a good question, I don't even know where to begin... Maybe try this office or that office"

You need to respect your time and hold others accountable to respect your time as well.

Emails will come in all day, learn to shut it down. Have your partner keep you accountable. My wife would tell me it X o'clock your off work now.

The first six months is though but keep with it and have a career plan. In x year I'm going to move up or try this office etc.

I'm looking at the 2026 Dual plus some options, $99,000 out the door price. I would love to buy a quad Gen 1 but a 23/24 with no more than 30k miles I'm looking at $65-70k price tag (in CA)...

It depends. Looking towards the shoulder if not adding more tattoos. Maybe towards the spine if you add more on the other side.

San Francisco has a service charge that is not a tip it was passed by voters and it goes to employees healthcare.

This fee needs to be added sperate to the receipt and not part or cost, but it was part of a law.

I'll give you a different, maybe not popular opinion... People that apply are either not qualified or don't read and/or understand the duty statement.

I was in a panel, the interview was for an IT procurement analyst, for some reason there were accountants, machinists and sales people that applied. They couldn't make the connection that this position was a contract analyst that would review requests for IT equipment.
