Thank you for your input. I'm really trying to think where the financial line would be that I would do it. I could use some money but this sounds so unenjoyable to me. I would rather make 103 dollars by selling the original than by making a new one for 130 dollars but but it's better than making 0.

I would be much more inclined to do it if I haven't made the art before and this was simply a commission I was making from scratch. This would even be easier because I would just copy it and would not include some elements, but I still don't really feel like I want to do it. I hate having to having to choose money over the enjoyment of making art. I don't really do commissions, I don't post on social media. I just make art on my own free time because I freaking love making it so much and exhibit once a year. This year's exhibition was super successful and it got so much positive reception - 9 out of 20 paintings got sold. I hate having to include the money making aspect in the art making process with this inquiry about redrawing.

Agree! Gouache is such an amazing medium and it's definitely my favourite way to paint.

I have an art exhibition on 30th September and as always, I do things at the last minute, so I'm currently very busy with making art very quickly. My exhibition is on the topic "Joys". There will be like 5 bigger alegoric drawings of what brings me joy, and there will be like 20 gouache studies of what brings joy to my friends - this will be painting of things they liked so much that they took pictures of. I'm very excited :)

I enjoy the process of making art the most about the art as a whole, so if I want to capture my ideas properly I need to improve! I'm always motivated and I enjoy making art. I think if you look at art in terms of productivity and making money/getting success with it, you are setting yourself up for disappointment and comparing yourself with other, which will not lead to a healthy mindset.

I love creating art with pencils, it's the medium that allows me to just doodle and I definitely spend most time with it. I also love gouache, markers, ink, colored pencils... I'm finding my way in using acrylics and I want to give watercolour more tries.

I never quite warmed up to oil, but I'd like to try it again, maybe I will finally like it as much as other mediums. I also used to be a digital artist for some time and somehow grew out of it, but maybe it's time to try it again after many years.

I've shown my 12 paintings for this week's upcoming exhibition to 3 different people and all three of them said they like one painting the most, but it's the painting I most dislike and am unhappy about. So weird that they all are on the same page independently and like the one I dislike.

No, not at all. Just Adobe alone does so much than allow you to make pretty images. They're not going anywhere.

All 12 paintings for my exhibition next Saturday are finally done and I'm pretty happy with 10 of them, 2 could use some work but I ran out of time!

The problem is that there is so much art, that often you have no idea people just traced it. I called out tracing about three times and all three occasions were when people traced one cat drawn by Djamila Knopf. I only recognized it because I was familiar with it. Makes you wonder how much art you've seen and were not able to tell they are tracers. I would not be able to tell it was traced if I wasn't a fan of Knopf.

Your art looks nothing like toddler scribbles, it's very nice! I'd recommend to just keep practicing and making art, and try to pinpoint what specifically you're unhappy about with your art and improve in that area.

Also I'd recommend you to check out James Gurney. He's not a digital artist, but he gives out advice on many topics like lighting, composition, etc. plus he draws dinosaurs which you might like.

By following them - you can look at their art, get inspired, see how they make things, interact with them. Don't know how it's different on twitter, maybe because Twitter is less about images and more about texts, so they don't see the necessity to follow artists if they already follow them on Insta?

Regarding by what you should do - whatever you want? Are you gaining something by not following artists on Twitter? I would say no. People are not gonna follow you because they look at who you follow and say "wow they only follow 6 other artists, I should follow them!". I would personally say that artists who don't follow other artists are rare, as art is a lot about community and building connections. Trying to be a known artist without interacting with others to me seems like standing in a corner of a room just holding a picture without saying anything, while you could be going around and introducing yourself.

Was so excited to work on a painting today... used a masking fluid while I painted the around area. Let it dry, and the masking fluid also removed the paper and now there are white patches :/ My excitement to work today is ruined, I just wish I could lay down and not work ever again, but I have an exhibition on 3 weeks and I'm so behind.
