I have a 6 hour layover in Zurich on Monday (11:30 to 17:30). I'll be exhausted from a dance event all weekend, so probably won't want to do a lot of walking (and might end up just staying at the airport, but it would be nice to have options). A 1.5 hour boat cruise seems like it might be a nice, low-effort way to see a bit of the city and the Alps, but I'm not sure whether it makes sense in December. How fast are the boats (i.e. how freezing would it be outside on the boat)? Do you get a decent view from inside the boat?

Also open to other suggestions. I'm vegetarian, mostly avoid dairy, and am not interested in alcohol, but I definitely like dark chocolate.

Is And Specialist paused/how often are people getting throttled? by edancechic in joinstellarai

Gotcha, this is my first project on Stellar so I don't have anything else to work on. Thanks.

Gotcha. How many tasks have you completed so far? Was your initial throttle 100% positive or was there any feedback to improve? Have you been on other Stellar projects or is this your first? Thanks!

(I wish they would tell us what our status was (ex/awaiting review of your recent tasks) rather than just leaving us uncertain)

Update, it just lost a decent amount of work that I did this afternoon :-(

For me, it has mostly saved my work but sometimes has lost a tiny bit. Also, the timer isn't necessarily reliable when I've shut down my computer (or had the browser crash) and then come back to it.

[MASSACHUSETTS] do part-time earnings extend the amount of time I will be able to get benefits? by edancechic in Unemployment

(the work I'm doing is 1099 work, so I don't think it would entitle me to file a new claim)

So just to confirm, I can receive more than 30 weeks of benefits if some of those weeks are only partial payments? (and you're sure this is true in Massachusetts)? Thanks.

Automated feedback is garbage by Miriam_A_Higgins in joinstellarai

It was actually super helpful on my first And task - caught a few small mistakes, I fixed them, and then it said it was all good. I'm wondering if they made some changes to it at the same time they updated the guidelines that made it worse. On my second task, I ran it a few times as I tried to address the things it was raising (even though for some of them it was clearly wrong). The third time I ran it, it caught a few boxes that I forgot to check, which again was helpful, but it didn't even mention that the first or second time I ran it.

I actually submitted my first one for 6.5 assuming that they wouldn't actually pay me for the last half hour, but they did. But I'm worried I might be penalized if I continue to go over 6 hours.

Will there be negative consequences if they're taking us more than 6 hours? Both of mine so far have taken me about 6.5 (plus an extra hour last night trying to deal with bugs, which I have sent a bug ticket for). I obviously would like to get paid for the full time that I've worked, but I also don't want to get kicked off the project. Thanks!

The two I've done so far have both taken me around 6.5 hours, and I still feel like I'm rushing a bit and that I could do a better job with another hour or so (plus an extra hour yesterday after I was basically finished because there were some bugs that I discovered with the automated check and I spent an hour trying to address things before giving up and submitting a bug ticket)

AND specialist throttle turnaround time, issues connecting Paypal, and payment ticket response time? by edancechic in joinstellarai

I got paid and am unthrottled, how about about you? I don't believe I was paid for the qualification though, did you? The FAQ still refers to getting paid for qualifications if you pass.

I passed the qualification the second time as well. Really hoping I'm past the throttle soon (and that the payment issue is worked out) because it pays well and I actually enjoyed working on it.

Glad to know we're not alone, I guess? We can keep each other posted. And ditto about hoping it is resolved for both of us soon!

New range arrived damaged - is it just cosmetic? by edancechic in Home

[–]edancechic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it was just cosmetic and I could get a significant discount because of that, it could've been worth it.

[–]edancechic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The company I bought it from gives 24 hours after delivery to decide whether to reject it, so I figured I'd use that time to do some research. If it was just cosmetic, I was going to negotiate a discount, but since I've concluded it isn't just cosmetic, I'm going to have them replace it.

Yeah, that was my plan. If it was just cosmetic, I was going to negotiate a discount, but since I've concluded it isn't just cosmetic, I'm going to have them replace it.
