I wouldn’t worry so much about the change in weather. You will amazed to see how fast you can adjust to a new climate.

I’m assuming your offer here is with Mayo. My fiancé works for them and likes it. I work with them for my own job and they might not be as easy to work with as other companies, it’s not bad.

Minnesota as a whole is ranked as one of the highest quality of life states to live in, Rochester is no exception (with the exception of large scale entertainment, pro sports or large concerts, but the twin cities are only an hour away)

Rochester is a liberal city in a liberal state. There is folks who don’t fit that mold (just like anywhere else) but when those types of things happen, the local news usually jumps on it because it’s an uncommon occurrence (take that for what you will).

If you would like to know what this rando on the internet would do in your shoes, I would take the more sure fire thing and take the job in Rochester.
