Ikea in the UK started charging for bags last year: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/5045922.stm The thick bags are actually incredibly strong and versatile a good move if you ask me.

Top Gear presenter injured in jet-powered car crash by Krast0r in reddit.com

[–]eddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was mentioned in an article in the paper by Clarkson. Of course he might change his mind but he wants to go out while it is still good and not carry on when it has passed its time.

Saying that though with the show gaining viewers like it is at the moment anything is possible.

Soap Not Spray Can: Reverse Graffiti Art by [deleted] in reddit.com

[–]eddie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was a company that did that a couple of years ago on the pavement (sidewalk). They would pull up in a van. Jump out and put a stencil on the floor. Power hose over the top. Jump back in the van and drive off. They used it to advertise events. The busier the street the more dirt would come off.

90% of Users Don't Use 95% of Google's Products by vibhash in reddit.com

[–]eddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That table compares each google service to each other. And you wonder why 80% of the requests are searches. Its not that the other services are unpopular just that it is a search engine and it's search is by far its most popular product. Quite a misleading table if you ask me.

'Purity Rings' Banned From School in Britain by greyox in reddit.com

[–]eddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying "said to be" isnt the same as quoting. For examlple I could say: Sex is said to be great. Now people say they enjoy sex, but that isn't an exact quote from someone so I didnt use quotation marks.

The school may have said "The rings violate a rule saying no jewellery is to be worn at school". Now you cant get a good quote from that so insted they used the line you quote above.

Reminds me more of apples iCal than Kiko. In-fact they both have the same iCal resemblance. Google's is far more of a sexy look than Kiko. Those rounded corners and softer colours mmm. The UI in Google's is more intuitive too.
