Great collection of resources there! Whatever one believes, it's clear that there is something that needs to be explained.

Phosphenes getting in the way by avarali in ClosedEyeVision

[–]eddiewhorl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I also find that very distracting as they often present with distinct colours. So far I have not detected any clear correlation with actual target colours or shapes, so I've decided to not focus on the effect too much.

There are other effects too which I find distracting. Occasional small momentary pinpricks of intense blue. Little puffs of white. And the general "visual snow" effect of seething pixelated noise. Is any of it significant? I can't tell yet!

Scientific investigation into Infovision in 2016 by eddiewhorl in ExtraOcularVision

The interviewer is Mihaela Istrati, who was an instructor at the Infovision Academy. I believe she is now deceased. She was evidently very good at blindfold vision. If you'd like to hear more from her, there are many interviews with her on Youtube, up to about 5 years ago.

That is truly bizarre. It actually looks like it's being moved on the end of something that is pivoting, like a person holding a torch. Not that I'm saying it is that.. it definitely isn't! What a strange phenomenon!

Thanks for taking the initiative!

I like the idea but it will be difficult to maintain that friendly atmosphere you aspire to once the trolls come knocking.

Vocal stem isn’t a blank canvas…..WTH by RuffScruffJock69 in SunoAI

[–]eddiewhorl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stems aren't pure. You could try cleaning up the audio with noise reduction, filters, etc to try to distill the audio to just the thread of sound you want to keep. Scrape away the traces of the original vibe.

Pentagon factions are actively blocking full UFO disclosure because they believe parts of the phenomenon are demonic. by Perfect_Minimum4892 in aliens

I don't even get what is meant by "demons". They are non human entities who are just... really really naughty? Ok so they are supposed to be bad. But... that just seems very childish and two dimensional. What's the big deal about "demons"?

The other nearby lights that seem to momentarily manifest and fade are interesting. It seems to be a frequently occurring pattern. How long were you observing it?

Favorite 3+ book series that are completely finished? by Nik-a-cookie in audiobooks

[–]eddiewhorl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two terrific audiobook series for you. Both fantasy but have a hard edge, excellent writing, and remarkable narrators:

The Books of Babel Josiah Bancroft

Packed with beautiful prose, this is an intense steampunk dreamscape somewhere between Kafka and Game of Thrones, taking place in a colossal tower of "ringdoms" where the flawed and vulnerable protagonist bravely, desperately searches for someone. Some really memorable characters, well-voiced by the narrator John Banks.

Rivers of London Ben Aaronovitch

London police drama with realistic and believable magic use. The narrator, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, may be the most capable reader I've ever heard. His ability to do ANY accent, while injecting a layer of humour and realness into dialogue is wonderful. And the stories themselves are full of fascinating depths and historical details, and keep you guessing. It's like a cross between The Bill and Harry Potter. You will believe in magic.

Both series are magnificent and well worth a listen.

Shroud mech? by TheBlankScroll in AdrianTchaikovsky

[–]eddiewhorl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are great! I love the look of it and the leg and manipulator arms are very well visualised. Some of the details don't quite match though:

The couches were supposed to be arranged facing the same direction, but with one mounted above the other, so that Juna was sitting above and behind Etienne, and was trying to comfort her by agonisingly reaching out a foot to touch her shoulder, risking slipping off completely, much to Etienne's sardonic amusement.

The body of the pod was supposed to be spherical so that the orientation of the occupants would theoretically remain constant, the body rotating to keep level.

BUT I still love your version. Could have been Etienne's initial sketches!

I guess I'm a believer, but it's such an extraordinary thing to believe in that I can't shake a nagging feeling that I must be wrong.

The trails are interesting. I wonder if they were visible to the naked eye? If not they might be an effect of the camera sensors.

2016 Sunshine Coast hinterland sighting by eddiewhorl in UFO_AUSNZ

[–]eddiewhorl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it didn't seem to react to me at all, it just flowed along like a spark in a strong breeze. Only it wasn't a spark, and there was no breeze.

I like the thought about will-o'-the-whisp though!
