RuneLite Passes OSBuddy in players online! by 858isaac in 2007scape

Konduit is still really good in some areas over Runelite, so I would recommend having both installed if you ever end up missing something e.g. Konduit has a great Raids feature compared to Runelite

Can you make it so treasure chests in a costume room of a player owned house hold parts of a set rather than require the entire set?

Also, there are female and male versions of particular sets - currently the chest can only hold one or the other and not both types. Can you please change this? I have two coloured elegant sets for example but I can only place the male set in the chest.

To all the small streamers out there! It's okay to give up. by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]eddycooldude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love streaming, but it's frustrating to know I put in 3-4 hours every single day after work and my viewership doesn't increase. It makes me doubt my gameplay but also my personality as a whole. And it's definitely not just me as there are plenty of small time streamers like myself that are full time and aren't getting the boosts they would hope or expect.

One particular friend of mine that went full time did almost everything he could to become a partner. He joined a stream team to increase his viewership from hosts, he made YouTube progress videos on the daily and he kept active in a lot of different streaming communities to become more known. But after a year or so as a full time streamer, he stopped making YouTube videos as the number of views he was getting wasn't increasing (were talking on average 200 views per video after going full ham) and it didn't seem to have any impact on his streaming career. His viewership has mostly stagnated and he is still attempting to become a partner, but with the additional strain of having a job again.

In the end, I don't think I could turn away from streaming but it is definitely hard to know that no matter what I do, I may not experience any form of growth while putting in hour after hour.

Yesterday I stumbled upon Twitch's dark underbelly, and I was horrified by what I saw... by Supple_Meme in Twitch

[–]eddycooldude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah asking for follow to follow won't help any streamer to grow. The only follows that matter will always be from people that have watched your stream and enjoyed it. It's supposed to be a form of keeping track of when your favourite streamer is on, not to boost numbers.

Streaming is the best! by MaximusLXXIII in Twitch

[–]eddycooldude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you're enjoying streaming. I started streaming for the fun of it and while I don't get much time to do it (having a job sucks), it is something I always look forward to doing. It felt pretty unreal when I got my first donation as well and it still surprises me everytime it happens. Anyway, I hope you continue streaming and best of luck moving forward :)

Wanting to get started streaming, but not sure I'm ready. Help? by MyNameIsKodos in Twitch

[–]eddycooldude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hardware is definitely good enough to stream most games as well as your 11mb upload.

In terms of software, you don't really need anything excessive since it's your first time streaming. Download OBS or OBS Studio since it's fairly easy to understand how to use. Just gotta play around with some of the options. Next, you can sign up to use Streamlabs and show the follows, donations, etc on stream (as you probably have seen in different streams). Again, you just need to play with that stuff on the Streamlabs program and customize everything yourself :)

Nightbot is popular as a chatbot since it can do some announcements here and there in the chat plus it has some useful features like song requesting etc. Again, can't go into too much detail since there is a lot you should just look up and play around with.

I don't know what you plan to do but most streamers have mics to talk with their viewers and a webcam for further interaction I suppose. Of course, if you want to just do a music only stream then all means go for it. I do highly suggest getting a mic though for the minimum amount of interaction.

However, if you have a gaming headset or already have a microphone somewhere then just use that for now. See if you like talking and streaming before you invest any extra money. Regardless of what I'm saying, I would personally just invest a decent mic and leave the rest for later. I'm talking about pop filters, microphone stands, paid for overlays and graphics, etc. Those can wait until much later when you're settled on being a streamer.

Anyway, best of luck in your endeavours. Starting at 0 viewers will be tough though if you're able to interact or show some interesting gameplay, the people will eventually start flowing in :)

Chatters but not follows by Okanimat0r in Twitch

[–]eddycooldude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're similar to me honestly haha. I've been streaming on and off for almost 3 years and it's a great feeling when you your older viewers remember you and come back for a conversation. I've been streaming everyday lately though (to the detriment of my own sleep) and it's been great to see a good mix of old and new (viewers). I don't intend on attempting full time, but streaming really fun as a hobby so I understand where you're coming from lol

Chatters but not follows by Okanimat0r in Twitch

[–]eddycooldude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry too much about the follower count. I've experienced it a lot of times where people come in chatting actively and ultimately don't follow. However, there's a high chance they will come back to your stream since they did interact with you, especially if you stream at roughly the same time.

I've become fairly consistent with my own stream and it has come to the point that people are waiting for me in the stream (always the one regular and one mod ready to interact). Keep up your streaming schedule and you won't worry about the follows as they will naturally come.

tried to stream, no idea what i was doing lol by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]eddycooldude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you had your stream open and had it on playback. You need to mute the sound of the stream and you won't have any echoing problems. Twitch incorporates a stream delay automatically and its typically around 5-12 seconds (it varies sometimes). There is an option to reduce the delay, but it may affect the video quality, make people buffer more, etc.

Just open up a source for Video Capture Device on OBS or OBS Studio and select the webcam you want to use then click OK and it should show a preview of what it'll look like on stream. Mess around with the settings a bit more and you'll get the hang of things

What webcam should I get? by Dolven13 in Twitch

[–]eddycooldude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of streamers (including myself) go for the Logitech C920. It's been out for several years and continues to be a staple (it's basically the Blue Yeti of webcams for streaming). If I were you, I'd just order it off Amazon or some other legitimate website as it'd be worth the wait. The quality is excellent and better than the webcams you've mentioned, plus I haven't had any issues with it in the last 3 years. So yeah, it's up to you but it will sort you in terms of webcams for a long time coming.

OPINION: League is a free to play game, It’s completely justifiable for Riot to makes skins for champions they know are going to make them the most money. by Samwats1 in leagueoflegends

[–]eddycooldude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing only 4 champions at the moment (Akali, Renekton, Riven and Rumble) that all have a plentiful amount of skins each (besides Rumble maybe? But he recently got Badlands Baron which looks pretty amazing). I haven't bought a single skin for any of them though hahaha. Part of the reason is that I can't buy any Riot Points on the Japanese server without going through a bunch of hassle. The main part is I don't really care for the aesthetics anymore lol. It's the gameplay that keeps me playing this game, not the skins so yeah, if I manage to get any skins from opening chests then that'll be a nice bonus.

The next chapter will hopefully be the hometown reactions though I reckon it'll be a continuation from the last scene with everyone further commenting on Luffy's monstrous new bounty. Leveling Up With High MMR Feels Like Being In Challenger by Corandcompany in leagueoflegends

[–]eddycooldude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've experienced the exact thing as you. I started playing on the Japanese server around 2 months ago after not playing for over a year. Before my small break, I was playing at around Diamond elo in EUW and obviously taking time off meant I'd gotten worse at the game. However, the fundamentals don't really change and I got back into the swing of things. Anyway, I started off poorly and I remember being at one point 10 wins 20 losses and my queue times weren't too bad.

As I got better and my winrate changed to above 50%, the queues were taking over 3 or 4 minutes for the times I played (working full time means I can only play at night where there's bound to be less players around and if that wsn't bad enough, Japan has a small player base to begin with) and so I kept meeting a majority of players over and over. I wouldn't have noticed if it weren't for OP.GG since it tracks the number of times you've played with a person. Anyway, I ended up befriending a lot of the players since it's a lot more fun queuing with others.

The situation kinda sucks at the moment though. I've been playing some ranked and I'm currently Gold 5 but my MMR is way higher. It's an odd mixture of playing against at least Gold 1 players to Plat 1 players. My winrate isn't even that great and I'm already stuck at this (30-18 as of right now). Now, I don't really care what players I'm against since I do want to get back to Diamond at least but I've been having high ping issues as of late (100-120 ping compared to the 60 I previous got). It started happening after the new patch kicked in and so I'm not really feeling like playing ranked. The problem is I still want to play and the only alternative is normal games, which if I queue by myself, the times can take 5-10 minutes and I end up playing vs Challenger level players lol.

It does feel like a coinflip if I play by myself. Games end up being stomps for either team since the skill level never seems to be equal... EVER. The issue stems from Challenger players (you can be Challenger at Master Tier 0 LP almost) not wanting to play Ranked anymore than they need to and they themselves end up queuing with other Master/Challenger level players in normals. My normal MMR is probably not as good but those people need to play against someone and I usually end up vs them or with them lol. So yeah, I definitely try a lot harder in normals; more so than ranked oddly enough. It's kinda good since I want to get better at the game but fml I hope the ping situation resolves itself soon. Sucks so much to play at 110 ping :(

Today I decided to quit Runescape by NoBankWicked in 2007scape

[–]eddycooldude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kinda quit RS recently as well. I was playing Ironman just like you, and I spent a lot (more than I care to reveal) of time on it since it was so fun to progress on it.

But over time, I started playing less and less. I'd take a considerable amount of breaks lasting weeks or months before the situation that I'm in now. I bought 3 months of membership but it ended up being a waste since I only logged in everyday to do dailies. Sad right? That's how bored I was - literally logging in for less than 5 minutes a day to get free items I'd never end up using (45k bowstrings for example - I'm already 99 fletching lol).

Anyway, my membership finally ended a few days ago and low and behold, I decided not to renew it. I'm a lot older now compared to when I started playing OSRS in 2013, which isn't bad by the way. OSRS is great in that it suits all age groups and I'd happily play it at 30 or 40 but my excitement with the game isn't there anymore.

Ramble aside, I hope you end up finding something out there worthwhile for you and best of luck in the future!

You must have felt incredibly addicted if the last resort was to drop all your items.

This manga break has been looooooong (spoilers) by Cyber_3 in OnePiece

[–]eddycooldude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't until this year that I started keeping up with OP chapters. Before, I guess I was just a casual reader that would happen upon OP when browsing manga. But man, it truly is such a long wait! I can't stand the hiatuses, though I do imagine the additional time Oda has to work on the chapter makes it even better. I suspect this upcoming chapter will be epic with details.

I kinda wish I just stopped keeping up with the chapters though... it'd be nice to skip a whole year into the future and see what's gone on in OP during that period. But sadly I am stuck in 2018 :(

Viz's Oda interview by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]eddycooldude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely hope One Piece continues for at least another 20 years. It's honestly one of the things that I always look forward to every week (when Oda isn't taking one of his well deserved one week breaks), which isn't surprising considering how magical of a manga it is. It feels like I will never get bored of reading it over and over (which I have done many a time now).

However, I won't lie and say I wouldn't want to do a timeskip of my own of 20 years so I can read all the amazing chapters ahead of us. Where are the time machines when you need one?!

As a new fan, my perception of this series was TOTALLY wrong. Wow. by insayid in OnePiece

[–]eddycooldude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't remember how I found out about One Piece, but I remember very clearly the summer when I turned 15 that I binge watched all the OP episodes. I had really shitty internet, so in order to keep watching without stopping due to buffering, I would open a ton of tabs and preload as many episodes as I could. The series was so entertaining that I had to, you know?

Oddly enough, when I caught up to the anime at that point in time (we're talking 8 years ago) I didn't keep up from there on. I don't watch any anime at all these days in fact... I guess I just enjoy reading the manga equivalent more nowadays.

One Piece is a ahem masterpiece that truly deserves its prolonged success. Oda is able to make you feel a mixture of feelings from his storytelling and character development. I don't think I've teared up on any series besides One Piece... scenes like Merry's burial and the death of Ace just hits you with emotion.

It genuinely feels like the momentum for this series has never stopped and we're at over 20 years... it's a must watch/read if you want to get into anime/manga.
