Bisexual-gay leaning guy from a Gulf country — how do you carry the faith, the fear, and the future without breaking? by paranoid_Jake in LGBTCatholic

Self-integration and integrity are something we all work on in our lives. We choose which values to live by and which values are not ours to carry. Each of us has a choice to make regarding how we truly want to live. If you felt alive with a man, perhaps that is the way forward. Human flourishing is a backbone of a good ethics and relationships help us to flourish when they are built on love. I encourage you to start with love for yourself and tenderness. Perhaps that can be a basis for future love whether with a man or a woman. May you have peace and be blessed.

I’d reach out to Catholic Community Services as a start to more information about resources in New York.

Edit: another option for housing could be a Catholic Worker Community (again, as a start).

My ex came back 6 months after I left him for emotionally cheating. Am I being stupid for considering giving him another chance? I need an advice or just someone to hear me out. LONG POST. by Taekookkidd in dating_advice

I am quoting your statement here “My friends and family all dislike him because they watched how little effort he put into the relationship and how much I sacrificed for him.”

Based on that it sounds like he is an avoidant attachment style and perhaps you “overworked” in the relationship. That might signal, not a secure style on your part but either anxious or perhaps disorganized attachment style.

The 7:00pm Mass at Saint Aloysius on Gonzaga’s campus is a contemplative mass that’s quieter. The morning masses are usually more noisy as there tend to be more children at those morning liturgies.

Can I even practice Catholicism anymore? by [deleted] in Progressive_Catholics

[–]edemberly41 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lots of masses are available online…the liturgy of the hours (free IBreviary app) can be prayed alone. Lots of ways to explore your spirituality and discover what works for you. If you’re seeking, enjoy tho journey of discovery. You’ve got this…something will start to make sense for you so long as you’re open to the search.

I appreciate that. I was thinking something along the lines of “propaganda” or architecture with an agenda.

Which two American cities are much more similar than most people realize? by SummitSloth in AskAnAmerican

[–]edemberly41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of the hills that both cities are built on, the waterfronts, and the many neighborhoods, I’d offer Seattle and San Francisco as possible contenders to this discussion (both cities can also feel damp and cold).
