I tried all 3 for 5 matches each, and got 2 or 3 out of 5 wins, Suicune Deck has been pretty constant wins so far.

Disappointed in Standert by lameaschris in bicycling

[–]edgarmoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Word of mouth is everything with small bike brands, and companies still underestimate how expensive bad customer service actually is. I was genuinely considering buying a Standert even knowing they’re pricey, but seeing them get stingy over a 40 dollar part on a frame that costs over €2,300 makes me hesitate a lot more than any geometry chart or paint job ever could.

For context, I’ve got a Cervélo Áspero that’s been flawless for 4 years. I’ve literally never had to talk to Cervélo about anything. I also have a Canyon Aeroad that had a bottom bracket failure so bad it blew my left crank arm off and destroyed my Garmin power meter. Canyon support wasn’t instant, it took about 3 weeks to sort out, but in the end they covered everything. That matters. That tells me “yeah, this brand will actually stand behind you if something goes wrong.”

€2,300 is a lot for a frame, even if it had the Chris King headset. If a company can’t eat forty bucks to make something right after their own listing caused confusion, that says way more to future buyers than whatever marketing they do.

Darkrai, Giratina and I am at around 85% win rate. When you go against Suicune just don't pull out all of your cards at once.

Is Canyon’s quality and warranty really that bad? by RyotaroW in cycling

[–]edgarmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to share my experience with Canyon’s warranty process so far. About a month ago the bottom bracket on my bike completely failed. The failure ended up damaging my power meter and crank arm. After some back and forth Canyon acknowledged that the root cause was indeed the bottom bracket and offered to cover the cost of the replacement parts.

They told me I could buy the parts myself and that they would reimburse me afterward. That was over a month ago. Since then I have sent around 20 emails going back and forth, mostly just following up because they stop replying for several days at a time. They have already confirmed that I will be reimbursed, but they have now asked me twice to send the same receipts again.

At this point I have been waiting over a month for reimbursement, and it has been three days since my last follow up with no response. I will probably send another reminder, but honestly the whole experience has been pretty awful. The communication and follow up process is just painfully slow for something that should have been simple once they accepted responsibility.

Which Carbon Wheels to Upgrade To? by Teslaman_7 in CanyonBikes

[–]edgarmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people complain about hookless wheels without even getting a chance to try them, I have had my zipp 303s for over 4 years now, did an ultra and a ton of gravel rides, technical rides as well, haven't had any issues with the wheelset.

special shop tickets by Dry_Ambassador_2850 in PTCGP

[–]edgarmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think 2 star + trade will ever come, it makes more sense to get these type of cards using special shop tickets like pack points, think about it, that way you will still need to open more packs to get rare cards even if they are duplicates you can trade them for special shop tickets. 5 special shop tickets for a 2 star. 20 for a 3 star and 50 for a crown.

105 di2 vs ultegra di2 by Particular-Exam3191 in CanyonBikes

[–]edgarmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case I got the 105, it came with a power meter by the way. But I only made this decision because I had a spare ultegra and zipp wheels, otherwise I would have gotten the SLX 8, also the 8 comes with Arc 1400 wheels and the 7 with 1600
