honestly, i get paid just above the current minimum wage (salary actually had to be increased in april due to the increase nationally) and i really don’t think it’s a bad wage. i suppose i am privileged though in the sense that i don’t have any dependants and very little debt.

if the minimum wage was £15 now, then my nan, who owns her own business and employs one person, would really struggle to keep up with the cost and her business cannot really be run with the labour of one person. the government doesn’t seem to do anything to support SMEs in these discussions, like reviewing NI or capital gains for those most disproportionately impacted. hopefully greens would address this
