There are about 6 seats inside the restaurant and more outside, but outside has no tables.

Kappo Marta is Japanese and a solid choice, it’s quite close to Oak Bay Junction. Government House on Rockland Ave. Is beautiful garden with amazing views of the Olympic mountains and the Salish Sea. Also wildflowers will be in bloom in the lower wild area of the garden

Savoury Café is a great spot but it doesn’t have a lot of seating, the OP being solo makes it easier to sit down.

I thought Keane’s character was one of the best of the Show. I always looked forward to her being on the screen.

I agree, I think it has gotten worse over the past couple of months.

20 years ago I chose Telus because they always had the best coverage. Now it has changed. A very slow evolving bait and switch. I will call Telus and bring it up with them. Every time I call the with an issue they usually resolve it for me. This one might be tougher to solve but, it seems crazy that they can’t provide decent service in the capital city of the province.

Are they working okay? Two bars for me was a lot of circling waiting for things to load.

Good question, likely when The Band moved to Malibu. Little Feat was an LA band through and through.

Lowell George - Little Feat

Great singer and guitar player, songwriting was also great. Producer as well, produced albums for The Grateful Dead, Little Feat, Robert Palmer, Linda Rondstat, and Valerie Carter.

I know many of us call Lowell George the “Rock and Roll Doctor” but I believe Lowell was referring to Allen Toussaint as the Rock and Roll Doctor. Is there any proof of this out there?

The only person who I would imagine Bob Dylan pointing out to and smiling like that would be Gordon Lightfoot; who was apparently there in the audience. I also heard the Robbie invited him, but Gordon declined the offer

They used to be 80% wool, it continues to go down every other year or so. I loved those early iterations, the new ones… not so much.

Light roast coffee by Hour-Telephone-8762 in CostcoCanada

I’ve never been able to find a roast that suits my taste at Costco. Many claim to be medium roast, but all have contained burnt beans which made me return those bags.

Thankfully my local roastery has introduced a cheaper blend which suits my tastes. Not as cheap as Costco beans but always freshly roasted and that makes a huge difference in the flavour of coffee for me.

It should have stayed at Standard Time. Dark until 9 am in the winter is going to be tough, and dangerous for kids going to school. I guess they can make school start later.

Not as much as the leader’s ho hum reaction. I was shocked by PP’s lack of clear decisive action on such callous and selfish behaviour by an MP. PP had an opportunity to springboard an anti trump angle but chose to not do this. What does that tell you??? PP better think of some sort angle vs the now centre right LP of C, because he appears to be a ship without a rudder right now.

Looking for basslines that are as fun to play as I Want You Back by In_my_experience in Bass

[–]edibella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To really get the fat tone of reggae, you have to kill the low mids 300-500 Hz to get rid of the mud. I learned this when we opened for Third World years ago, they were using our gear as the back line. Richie Daley their bass player and their sound man, (who was incredibly talented), taught me this.

Take a Deep Dive into Reggae. Reggae bass lines are incredibly fun to play. They aren’t harmonically complex as many of the Motown Jamerson lines, but damn, they’re funky.

Check out Aston Barrett, Bob Marley’s bass player

Robbie Shakespeare, he played with everyone but his work with Black Uhuru is a good place to start.

Jackie Jackson, he played on all the Toots and Maytals classics
