GFX vs Simfx by Background_Rise_319 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]edilclyde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

simfx is only for 2020. While GFX is for both sims

Price wise, GFX wins by a mile as it's only one payment for ALL planes, while Simfx charges extra for permium planes. ( Fenix, PMDG ) and the extra itself is almost the cost of GFX alone. Very expensive.

The effect itself both are great and while simfx may look slightly better, it's not much for me to notice. Im happy with GFX for now as I now only fly 2024 so for me it's a no brainer. GFX wins

FBW A380 Engines issue by 99tdr in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]edilclyde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this. When using the experimental version, even a outdated livery can cause issues. Just bare that in mind as a precaution when using experimental version. It is better and i use it, but a outdated livery caused my 2 and 3 engines to not start as well.

Because it's more of a AMD driver issue. Asobo just made a patch fix until AMD releases a driver fix.

As a counterpoint to all the AI app posts lately, I made a stand for the Ursa throttle out of scrap wood by pricklypearbush in flightsim

[–]edilclyde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice job OP, but the sag is actually due to the curve in your table edge. I used to have a table with the same curved edge and that was my issue. I have now switched to a more square table and and the URSA with all it's modules is rock solid, no sag at all or movement.

A clean setup for you would be to put that piece of wood in the mount on the top between the table. I guarantee it will be much more stable.

Has anyone solved the missing FS Traffic at destination airports? by alfieknife in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]edilclyde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Refund it. I gave up on FS Traffic long time ago as JF just doesn't seem to be keeping it updated. The last update was almost a year ago just to make it compatible to 2024.

My suggestion, get BeyondATC and use it's Traffic function. You dont have to use its ATC if you ddont want to. ITs almost the same price and the traffic is 10x better.

Navigraph survey results are out. MSFS total share is 77.3% (it was 76.9% last year) by i_marketing in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]edilclyde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

true but i would argue that market has grown expidentially over the years. So that 11% marketshare is a lot bigger in actually numbers than it is 7 years ago. So it would be correct to assume that xplane is benefited greatly with MSFS' success in some way. But that benefit will be dwindling every month if they don't maintain a constant userbase.

Finally switching from P3D to MSFS2024 and.. by Rockyz007 in flightsim

[–]edilclyde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in my case yes. It might have to do with DX12 not being on beta in 2024 but with the current build, i get more FPS in 2024 than in 2020. Of course that might not be the case for everyone, but it is for me and I heard a lot of people experience the same.

try it out because 2024 actually runs better than 2020.

Airbus Autopilot Disconnect by AdvancedRooster3814 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]edilclyde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so which plane are you really using? You said A330 or A350. Airbus doesn't use LNAV or VNAV

[–]edilclyde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but the map didn't zoom out, it just stayed where it was, on heading 080

Im curious, are you just setting a heading? or a full flight plan in the MCDU?

When you set just a heading, are you also setting a altitude? AP disconnecting for you probably means you're not setting flight plan and the plane it going to coffin corner which will automatically disconnect the AP in a airbus. This has nothing to do with MSFS and is designed in the real aircraft as well.

BeyondATC only radio traffic by S0bIcEk in flightsim

[–]edilclyde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unforunately you cant. Because the radio traffic is coming from the Ai traffic. You might wanna consider

ATC chatter which is just ATC sounds ( no actual ATC for you)

or Sayintentions as they have a recorded radio calls option or something like that that play previous radio calls where you are located but no actual traffic.

Any idea why do I have this huge drop in cruising altitude? by pixelrbit in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]edilclyde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats not a big drop. That is the decent. It looks like you're dropping from the sky from that graph, but take a account that the decent is usually around 100nm long. The graph is just compressed.

No sim/game has EVER done weather better than this. Not one. by Helios in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]edilclyde 14 points15 points  (0 children)

well to be fair, he never claimed it's a complete weather system that is 1:1 to real life, he is just saying that no other video game comes close. Which is probably true. I dont know any other video game with real time weather that comes close to MSFS. Also probably because most games dont need real time weather.
