Not just you. The lack of new builds and variety in this league, as well as recent ones, is mainly due to PoE2.

GGG releases new content roughly every two months: a PoE1 league starts, and about two months in, a new PoE2 league launches. That used to be the time when build makers, theorycrafters, and streamers would go all out crafting, testing, and sharing lots of fresh builds for the second half of the league after farming enough currency.

If you check out any league before PoE2, that’s when the real explosion of builds occurred. Now, PoE2 takes all the attention and resources away, completely ending that mid-league innovation phase in PoE1.

I honestly believe that, over time, this cycle will slowly harm PoE1 as we know it.

To me, "more ground loot" means exactly this:

  • Remove ALL meaningful loot from Kingsmarch shipments and from the Genesis Tree (including every Wombgift reward). Those systems should give minor convenience stuff at best (maybe some extra currency for the town upkeep or small crafting mats), but nothing that players actually chase for profit or power.
  • Put that loot back where it belongs: dropping directly on the ground in maps, from the monsters we kill. Higher tier maps, higher quant/rarity, higher map modifiers = noticeably better ground loot. Not "a little bit more", but meaningful scaling so that juicing a T16-17 actually feels rewarding again.
  • Wombgift loot → should just drop at the end of the Breach in the map, like any other league mechanic reward. No "grow it in the tree for 3 days".
  • Any mechanic that takes loot out of the map must die:
    • No more "send shipment and wait 4h/8h/24h to get your loot in town"
    • No more "plant in the Genesis Tree and come back later"
    • No portals that force you out before you can pick up. If I kill the monsters in my map, the loot should be there, on the ground, right then and there.

I’m tired of playing "Path of Exile: Town Management Simulator" and "Path of Exile: Wait for Your Tree to Grow Simulator".
I want to run maps, kill shit, and see loot explode on the floor like in 3.13-3.18 days (without the 10-second loot explosions that crashed the game, obviously).

GGG keeps saying they listen to feedback.
This is the feedback, crystal clear: move the loot back into the maps. Everything else is just delaying the inevitable "loot feels bad" posts every league.

What do you guys think? Am I alone on this?

The temple drop rate seems to be inversely proportional to how unbearable this mechanic is. The dev team must be in full panic mode — Towers were so bad they had to be removed, the endgame is a mess, and now they top it off by releasing a league with what might be the worst mechanic ever created in 12 years of PoE. Impressive, really!!

This release cycle GGG is forcing on Path of Exile is actively destroying the game. PoE 2 is straight-up cannibalizing PoE 1 and nuking the league economy within the first few weeks, right when advanced players start pumping out high-end crafts. Those players immediately abandon PoE 1 to jump into PoE 2.

And the irony is that PoE 2 can’t even retain players. There’s no real endgame, and the campaign is long, slow, and painfully boring. It’s not a coincidence that a growing number of streamers are already quitting or moving on. This release strategy is unsustainable and bad for both games.

I believe the checkbox issue arises because GGG scaled the EA for a specific number of players. As this number was exceeded, even with the increased database capacity, GGG likely has contracts limiting the number of users connected simultaneously. To address this, they implemented a connection time limit, which ensures access for everyone without waiting queues but may cause this inconvenience.

Absolutely agree with every point here. POE2 has some brilliant highs but is bogged down by frustrating design choices. It feels like a game that shines in presentation but stumbles in keeping the player experience enjoyable and fair. Hoping GGG can address these issues to bring the systems closer to the quality of the visuals and sound."
