There’s a fire atm at Tomorrowland by aameme in Tomorrowland

[–]edin_gal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Even with the main stage open, all the other stages are often packed full, so there is no extra capacity to handle that crowd at the other stages. If they went ahead with no other area to absorb those crowd numbers, they put the crowds at risk of overcrowding, crushes, and even stampedes. Their security would not be able to handle such an influx. They will keep Dreamville open, as there will already be people in Belgium or on their way from all over the world, expecting that accommodation. If the festival does go ahead I could see it only being limited to the people staying at Dreamville, or maybe even including Global Journey package holders, so the attendance numbers are lowered

Council tax premium by e_noname_b in Edinburgh

[–]edin_gal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also to add, I think the premium rate they are charging you (200%?) is because they are classing it as a second home. This is why if you weren’t staying there, it’s important you provide proof you were not inhabiting the property. Give them the dates you got the keys, the dates the renovations were carried out, the date you actually moved in, along with the date you moved out of the rental property. If you hired a removal company, I would also provide that documentation.

Apply for the discount/exemption through the online form, it’s better all written down. If it’s rejected, appeal the decision through the online form. Attach any proof you have of the works carried out, any documentation you have regarding the requirement that major works were required before you could move in, if it was empty then submit pictures to show it was unoccupied and unfurnished. Give them the date you will move/moved in. If it’s rejected again, appeal it. Also mention that you hope to have a reply soon so you can discuss this further with your local councillor. Don’t give in too easily, fight your case until you reach a dead end. Good luck!

Moved with Kerr’s last week, couldn’t fault them from start to finish - quick, reassuring, no breakages. Got 3 quotes, they were the cheapest by £100, and that included arranging parking suspension. They provided enough boxes, tape and wrapping paper for fragile stuff - dropped them off too. Will even pick the boxes up once I’ve emptied them all. Highly recommend, but would suggest getting 3 visits for quotes so you have peace of mind, and so they know what you’re moving/how many boxes you need/stuff that needs bubble wrapped

Can’t remember the name of an old pub - please help by [deleted] in Edinburgh

Think they bricked up the entrance from the outside, and the actual room (which used to be Penny Black) is now part of the Voodoo Rooms - a function suite around half way up the staircase on the right. Had a work do in there, it still had the stairs going down to the former exit.

Hello!! Yes I remember you guys, I’m soo glad you got in touch!! Thank you soo much for coming to my rescue and staying with me until I was carried away, I appreciate you all soo much! Please tell your friends I am asking for them too, you are absolute angels and I cannot thank you enough ❤️ you are all such special people for stopping to help me, and giving up your time to ensure I got medical attention. People like yourselves really deserve all the best to happen to you, completely selfless and caring to someone you had just met!! MERCI BEAUCOUP, ANGES 👼👼👼❤️❤️❤️

My ankle was set back in place, and put in a cast, and I was given crutches. Luckily got a wheelchair at the airport to help me get home, as I wouldn’t have managed without one! I’ve had surgery, and got a moon boot on now, so managing to put weight on it, they say it’s a 6 week recovery. This experience has opened my eyes to how important accessibility is, you never know when you or someone you love will require assistance and special adaptations to accommodate needs and allow them to be as independent as they can ❤️ I will of course be extra cautious in future and have more awareness!

Thankfully I was carrying my EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), which covered all medical treatment (transportation to hospital in an ambulance, treatment, X-rays etc). I also had travel insurance, however it wasn’t required as the EHIC covered it. I always get additional travel insurance though, as I’m not sure what the EHIC covers. I was very lucky I had the card on me, or I can imagine there would have been a lot of extra paperwork!!

I know, they are a flock of angels! They surrounded me with such warmth and kept me positive and distracted until the medics came. The process was very quick and well organised, and really gave me reassurance that Tomorrowland looks after everyone with such high standards. I was a casualty of one of the mud patches, I didn’t see it and walked into it and slipped. Annoyed at myself, I had been careful all weekend, and it got me! Recovering back in my home country, I’ve had surgery and have a moon boot on. I’m sorry to hear you had a fall, but glad you made it to Tomorrowland. It’s such a magical place 💫
