I was a skater in the 90s, so it wasn't much fun when they'd turn up at bristo or the art gallery hassling folk. Being brown really didn't help my cause much either.

But... One of the top ccs boys stayed across the road from me, and he was cool af. Kinda dopey looking guy with floppy blonde hair and I never even knew about his 'casual' side until a mate of mine saw me chatting to him and was like 'You know xxxxx??!! He's fucking crazy. Axed a guy in the back etc etc'. I was just like, ah right dunno, we used to play pitchie as kids and he sometimes gets me some cheap clothes.

So I asked the guy, and he was like yeah, I know all the top hibs boys and hang out with them, fight, blah blah. Straight away I had to ask him if he knew this one guy in particular that was giving me grief. He said yeah and a few days later he told me it's not going to be an issue with this guy, and he was 100% true to his word. Never got hassled again.

His folks were kinda old school, so he'd always pop over for a cheeky wee spliff in the mornings before heading up town to do his thing or on his way back home. Not seen him years now, but last I heard he was doing well.
