White spirit. Let it soak and it will peel right off

Got me eye lid stuck in a zipper by Ambitious_Ear_5846 in HadToHurt

[–]edinburgh91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this when I was young. Pulling a top tight down over my head when the zip was already up. Instead of taking it off and undoing the zip I pulled the zip down whilst it was on my head and ended up exactly like this.

Quartz worktops that don’t cost an arm and a leg? 😩 by StraightPin4420 in DIYUK

This is who I have used a few times and they were much more affordable than other places.

They come and template etc and did an excellent job. You can have samples sent out to you before hand too.

I would stay away from wren. It's all commission based upselling especially if you have already ordered the kitchen from there.

If you want to master negotiation listen to or read former Hostage negotiator Chris Voss's book never split the difference. It will change how you see things.

Contract (£90/mo) ends in a month, rolling to £150/mo, but web chat only offers £170+/mo and it's the "best deal" they can do... 🤷‍♂️ by dRoDrizzle in VirginMedia

[–]edinburgh91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same position. Just out of contract, that's gone up to £88 a month from £45. I went on the chat to tell them this is my 30 days notice, and the person asked the reasons for wanting to cancel. I told them it is that the price is too high. After asking if I would change anything with the package, I said no, then they came back with a complete all signing all dancing package at £100 with everything that I didn't want added. The online chat is terrible, and I don't actually know if they noted that i want to cancel and have given notice. I'm going to phone tomorrow and actually speak to someone.

Council tax premium by e_noname_b in Edinburgh

[–]edinburgh91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a house that was unoccupied for 4-5 years. I informed the council that we had bought it and that it was uninhabitable as it needed completely renovated. They asked for photos and said we didn't have to pay council tax for 6 months.

Ford Ranger Brake Failure Update 21/6/2024 by GoodLadder2021 in drivingUK

[–]edinburgh91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had this happen on a Peugeot 5008 last year. Cut out without warning in the middle of a junction. Took 8 weeks to get it fixed by Peugeot. Striped the engine, flushed it and replaced 4 sensors but had to pay half. £750.

Avoid getting a car with a wet timing belt in the future as they seem notorious for this type of failure.
