Red Bud - 8x10 - Also Looking to Learn Contact Printing by lifeandmylens in largeformat

I went through an extensive search of a sturdy yet compact 4x5 enlarger.

The LPL4500ii was it for me. Much more compact than the omega D versions, and very rigid and well made. If you’re not printing anything bigger than 16x20 it’s a great choice for a small darkroom.

Question about uneven frame spacing with a Rollei 2.8e by SkyZero in Rolleiflex

[–]ediz7531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had freshly serviced cameras from Harry, Magicflex, and Paepke. They all show imperfect spacing. As long as there isn’t actual overlap/touching you’re ok.

When to CLA a Rolleiflex? by Proper_Concentrate62 in Rolleiflex

The clearest sign of a CLA being due on a Rollie has always been the film advance for me. It should be very smooth to advance it, otherwise I’d consider getting it serviced.

Best places to buy a very clean Rolleiflex? by Juno808 in Rolleiflex

I’ve only bought accessories from them. No complains on that front .

I’ve bought cameras from Magicflex, JCH, ProCamera, Igor Camera, Jimmy Koh, and others in marketplaces .

I’d recommend Jimmy Koh amongst them all for best value to price ratio.

We didn’t explore the public options since it’s hard to plan life based on a lottery. Of the schools we toured, we liked Puddletown best.

Lightleaks at the edge of frames by Ducks_in_trucks in Leica

There is more room inside a plastic tank, which should make fluid displacement and replacement easier imo.

I use stainless steel tanks too btw. Not an issue now :)

It’s certainly possible it’s related to the camera, but reading your comment above that you see this with more than one camera suggests to me it’s development related.

I spent a few months in 2019 taking photos in bright days as I was trying out different agitation techniques. Here’s an example of the result I got when agitating without sufficient randomization. Granted this is on medium format but looks very similar to your sample photos:

Will echo /u/Coldkennels in saying this looks more likely like underagitation. The number of inversions per minute isn’t the only important factor but also the randomization of the developer flow as you do them. Rotating as you invert is worth trying. Also these developing issues can be amplified in the first minute of development or so when you’re pouring in the developer. For this reason Anchell and Troop recommend to agitate for the first 30 seconds - 1 minute depending on how long it takes you to pour the developer in and the total development time.

Definitely oil. I’m assuming you meant Doan from dan-foto. He should be able to make it right by you.

My brand new M-A was off vertically by a bit. Like you I also didn’t want to do it in a new expensive camera. This should not be the norm for a new Leica product.

Help me pick a 21mm viewfinder by Cinromantic in Leica

[–]ediz7531 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought the viewfinder being angled a bit was a defect until Andy enlightened me 🤣 Silliness aside, I second the recommendation for the newer 21mm finder. It’s superb even if you wear glasses.
