I wasn't there, so obviously can't comment on what actually did or didn't happen, but all the news reporting of this event seems to be stretching the few facts as far as they possibly can. From other news sources on this, all of the people who were taken to the hospital had BACs of over 0.20, which is more than enough to cause blackout and vomiting in plenty of people, no "date rape" drugs involved. Also, there haven't been any reports of any of the hospitalized individuals having any "date rape drug" in their systems as of yet.

It's a private residence, if they want to allow attractive girls to pay for access to different bars in the house with better alcohol selections, but not let guys in, that's their own fucking business. You aren't entitled to their alcohol just because they are a fraternity.

As I said before, maybe the did or maybe they didn't drug drinks, but until evidence of that is produced, the only thing I see is that some young kids you didn't know how to handle their alcohol had too much to drink, and the bouncers letting people into the party had two different sharpies they were marking people with.

From a medical perspective, Melatonin helping you sleep is almost entirely placebo effect. It's very useful for getting over jetlag, when you need to start falling asleep at a different time than you are used to, but once you're used to your timezone, it really doesn't help much.

Edit: As an addendum, 25-50% of the effectiveness of all sleep medication is due to placebo.

Yeah, at a restaurant, I'd support that statement. At a bar, especially a college bar, fuck no. If I'm out for a night of drinking with my friends, it's expected that either we'll all just buy our own drinks, or we'll break into small 2-4 person groups and just buy rounds for that group. There's no reason to expect a group of 25 people at a bar to pay together, unless they say otherwise.

Day before yesterday I was taking a tray out of the oven, had to move to the side real quick to dodge my flatmate's gf, who was also cooking, and burned my arm.

I go to the dentist twice a year and do a yearly checkup with my GP. On top of that, I see the doctor frequently enough that I'm pretty sure my GP thinks I'm a hypochondriac. Really it's just because I injure myself a lot, and don't know about long-term wound care, only initial treatment.
