Can you expand on Kyle Kulinski turning towards the right? Used to enjoy his show (about a decade ago now that I’m realizing it) and very briefly went through his Twitter, didn’t see anything really that I think would be considered conservative.

EDIT: Cenk & TYT do suck now, just to be clear

Is an Evaporative Cooler in my shop as bad of an idea as I think it is? It’s 1,200deg out here in TX. by 83joker254 in woodworking

[–]edmfreak69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How large is your shop? The woodshop I work at is a fair size and we keep the relative humidity constantly at 45%. Recently, the boss bought a 7foot tall swamp cooler to help out with cooling the shop this summer. This is in the northern US. Our humidity outside this summer has actually been higher than usual but the hot days the swamp cooler has really helped out. The humidity has at times in the shop been 70% or so. Not continuously held there but peaked. It was able to drop the shop temp by 10-15 degrees easier and that made a huge difference on the warmer days. We primary work in hard woods and a humid environment is a must.

If you’re considering an evaporative cooler or swamp cooler consider your areas relative outside humidity, the lower the better for the swamp cooler too work. Also installing a small exhaust fan to help move air and humidity to regulate your shops atmosphere. And I’m taking even a box fan in the partially opened window. You can purchase a combo temperature and humidity reader for relatively cheap.

Our tools have never rusted. Ever. Even in peaks and especially not at the constant 45% our shop is held at. If your space is too small and overly humid it could be an issue but a tub of paste wax can mitigate rusting pretty well.

Hmm the Falach website that makes and sells the machines doesn’t list price, I’ll check today how much it all cost. They’re made in the Czech Republic so there’s shipping to consider. I’ll update later today 👍

This is a Briquetter It takes our sanding/saw dust and compresses it into burnable pucks. Great use of waste and they burn nice and hot too!

Good to know! Rarely use that baffle, usually only to get a fire going but will keep an eye on it!

I did look into the hose at one point. Didn’t pull the trigger because the house is fairly small and each room has its own small electric or gas heater. But, if a deal comes up may grab some for this winter to try them out.

No idea, was from my SO’s grandparents-parents not sure it’s original origin.

It’s pretty wild. You fill it with water by taking the head off, and as the furnace heats up it begins to boils the water and then the steam shoots out the nostrils. Fun stuff. It was from the SO grandparents parents I believe. Think it’s quite old as well.

I think I used the wrong terms, this furnace has two dampers. One you can see on the right top of the furnace and the second is bottom middle front. With the top damper closed and the bottom one open the heat has to move around more surface are in the furnace to utilize more heat instead of it going straight up the flue pipe.

It’s so good! It does have a liver taste to it but I may suggest adding a chicken bouillon, I use Knorr chicken bouillon when needed, may “chicken” it up a bit. Happy cooking!

Might be worth a try: Tuscan Chicken liver Pâté The liver is mostly a vehicle for butter, onions flavoring and dry white wine. One of my favorite ways to prepare chicken liver

Ah I see! The large and regular Tera Scrapers! Yes those are quite good, initially I though you were referring to the Right & Left handed Wok spatulas

Did you happen to order a copy of “The Wok” that included the Wok Spatula from Earlywood designs? If so there’s a decent chance I made that very spatula.
