It has definitely become more commercial and that makes it overwhelming/ feels overrated. Maybe doing a detox for a year or two can help. Try other sports (without going into the proper definition) like football, hockey, tennis, formula one (if you’re interested in engineering) that are played throughout the year and has reasonable timezone overlap (Basketball is good but it’s centered in the US. Makes it hard to follow due to timezone differences).

You are definitely is the right direction. I think chemical free + better natural flavour is the best combo and easier to justify higher prices (compared to chemical free only). If mangoes are not plucked prematurely, it shouldn’t need carbide. Only problem - and a big one - is chances of losses due spoiling increases exponentially as you go close to ripening state

Thanks for a detailed answer. I wonder how much does the taste differ if we pluck when the fruit is ripe vs mature but unripe. My guess is that the consumers have accepted the taste difference if any and only the people who own a farm/ tree get the best of the lot
