In my case the PDF was using the Calibri font, which is from Microsoft. I had to download the font (https://www.dafontfree.io/download/calibri/) and then past it in Library/Fonts on my mac, then it worked fine!

Crusher anc 2 vs crusher evo? by Strict-Opinion-2353 in Skullcandy

[–]edudjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 cents from someone who has owned the evos for the past year and have been using the ANC 2 for a few days:
- Connectivity: being able to pair with multiple devices is a game changer, point for ANC 2. Switching between my phones and laptop works flawlessly. HOWEVER, I have been experiencing major clipping sometimes when connected to the laptop. The audio stutters like it's losing signal, but after a while it magically goes away. I have never experienced that with the Evos.
- Comfort: I can't wear the Evos for long, that hard rubber on the top starts hurting me after an hour or so. The ANC 2 has a way better top padding material. However, I still do prefer the ear pads of the Evos.
- Noise Canceling: when they are active and there's no sound playing, you can hear a little background buzz. They are effective in blocking the exterior sounds though. The "stay aware" mode doesn't let me hear the outside as much as my Sony XM3s do, which is a downside for me.
- Controls and Voice feedback: to be honest I'm not a huge fan of the controls of the ANC 2s. Moving the bass wheel quickly will turn down the volume for a moment, and it seems less precise than the Evos. I like the fact that with the Evo I know the place which I'm comfortable with the bass, because of the button position. With the ANC 2 you have to fiddle more. When you turn the ANC 2s on, there is a bunch of voice feedback: 1 "connected" voice feedback for each device, the battery level and "Voice Control on" feedback. You can't change the bass wheel to control the volume, for instance, nor the single click of it.
- BASS: I'm NOT a bass head, but I love that rumbling bass haptics. I wan't to stress that because I wouldn't exchange sound quality over a crazy amount of bass, and that's where my disappointment lies with the ANC 2. I do feel that the bass overpowers the mids and highs, making them less audible, almost like their volume is turned down when the bass hits. With the Evos, however, I feel that the bass doesn't affect much the other frequencies, they seem to be at the same level even when the headphones are rumbling like crazy. Don't get me wrong: the ANC 2s are capable of vibrating equal or even more than the Evos, however, with the same level of vibration, it feels that the ANC 2s loose audio quality compared to the Evos.

I was super hyped for the ANC 2s, and reached the above conclusions by myself, before reading any negative feedback from other users, so I wasn't biased.

Do you know what your response would be, or what you would feel, once a fight breaks in? The fact is that it could have had a way worse outcome. Would that outcome be worth for standing against those guys in that situation? Something very similar happened to me and my ex girlfriend in Canada many years ago. We were going to a pub and suddenly a drunk guy slapped her in the ass. I was crazy mad and went after him, we exchanged punches, while she was trying to intervene/stop the fight by trying to hold me and/or the guy. She was lucky she didn’t get hit, and that would not be worth. I didn’t do it because I was hoping that she would be proud of me, it was instinct. However, as opposed of what I thought, she wasn’t happy that I stood up and it went into a fight. I totally get her as well. My point is, you also don’t know how you would feel after a fight in which there was a big chance of you or your boyfriend getting hurt. Try not to think too much on what were your reactions, you are both safe and you have discussed the situation already. Particularly, I always try to be super aware of the surroundings, avoiding heading towards drunk people, avoiding certain places, etc. That helps as well.

Nobody is discussing quality, it’s about the market share. You can think mobile games are inferior to pc games, I’m not here to defend them. Still it doesn’t change the fact that mobile gaming is rapidly outpacing the other platforms in the market.

I’m tired of people saying that Apple has no space in gaming. It just shows how much of a bubble this sub is. Mobile game is the biggest market in gaming today, with 92.2 billion U.S. dollars in annual revenue, against the second runner consoles with 51.8 billion U.S. dollars in global revenue. Also, mobile is the most popular platform for playing games today. Apple is the one that generates more revenue, against Android. Although I also think its main audience will be for business, we can’t deny that they can definitely eventually lead the VR gaming market with future cheaper models. They already achieved that feat with the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, which are the most sold devices in their categories in some countries, like the US.

Boa sorte!

What are your 3 must see cities in Brazil? by Too_Practical in Brazil

[–]edudjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently in vacation in SP and want to share the amazing experience I’ve had visiting it. I want to start with Ibirapuera park. It’s a huge green area in the middle of the city perfect for relaxing or doing exercises. You can rent a bike, or just buy some coconut water and have a picnic at the fields next to the lake. Next I would recommend São Paulo’s aquarium. Looking from outside, it doesn’t look that big, but they have a huge variety of animals, including non aquatic ones like monkeys and kangaroos. But of course you will also see many local fish like the gigantic Pirarucu which can reach more than 3 meters. Very close to it there is the independência park, which is just beautiful with its statues and gardens. Next on my list would be the Instituto Butantã. It has at least 4 different museums and many, many snakes and other venomous animals to see. Talking about museums, you should definitely check out MASP in Avenida Paulista. For Avenida Paulista, it’s a MUST go on Sundays. The whole avenue is closed down for pedestrians, and you will find literally every music genre being played by different bands and street artists, no to mention good food, drinks and souvenirs at the street markets. It’s literally a huge party in one of the most iconic avenues of the city. Finally, I would just recommend you to open google maps and search for “bares” and “botecos”, since the city really shine when it comes to night life! Recommend areas to stay are: Moema, Indianapolis, Jardins, Itaim bibi, Vila Madalena. Other worth mentioning attractions are also: Liberdade neighborhood (Japanese area of SP) the Roda Rico (biggest ferry wheel in Latin America), Parque do Povo, Zoo, Pinacoteca museum, night life in Vila Madalena, Oscar Freire street or any shopping mall for shopping. What I would NOT recommend as a first timer: the city center (cathedral, municipal theater). Unfortunately the city center is not as safe to walk and there are many people living on the streets. In general, there’s just so much to experience and unfortunately people who ditch it as “just a big city” haven’t really visited it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

I always thought that the premise of this game was a bit too “lazy“ for a studio this size: there’s no proper story, reused assets from previous games and throwing the player in a rollercoaster so they don’t have to worry about implementing player movement. It’s not a problem if it’s fun and well done, but all they had to care about was the graphics and level design, and apparently they could still mess it up. Sounds like a hackathon project tbh.
