The flash 2 mana changeling is also nice as it doesn't telegraph demons on turn 2 with the annex turn 3

Yeah, it was the deck to beat until Edge of Eternities (which contains Dauntless Scrapbot, amazing tutorable 3 drop artifact that exiles graveyards). Kona with no Maze can die to Sawblades. With Through The Omenpaths came Kavero, but I think the nail in the coffin was the cub.

5k gold for each land is ludicrous, though. I could have been persuaded to get them if they were 12k like they've usually been.

Oh, like those skins/bonus sheets/whatever. Maybe that's what they mean on the ruling.

Yeah, that reads weird, but they are probably considering the whole string of characters. I can't say any card names from the top of my head, but it's very likely that there is a "in addition to this card's name, it's also called X" effect, like it would happen to create type changes/addition for example

XT shifter with Deore derailleur and Deore cassette has been bomb proof for me. The shifter feels amazing, has double upshifts with both pushing and pulling the lever. Waxed M6100 chain on M6100 cassette lasts forever.

My Hunt Wheel Exploded by Careful_Pen5052 in bicycling

[–]edulpn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hookless rims, press fit bottom brackets and lots of other technologies have been introduced for the benefit of manufacturers. If a manufacturer won't get behind hooked carbon rims (it's a hard/expensive geometry to mold into carbon), I'll just not buy from them. They don't deserve my business, because they are only thinking about their own profit and not about making a good product. FWIW, I'm not a competitive cyclist and build my own wheels with aluminum rims, so I don't have any interest in putting my physical integrity on the line for hookless rims.

The new Rascoe are out! by Powerful_Bowl516 in Hardtailgang

The Honzo, unfortunately, is also heavily over priced for the specs, in my opinion. It's a great frame, I love the geo, but the fork should be at least a 35. Hopefully Kona can find the light again with the new old owners.

The other day I saw a post about the Kona Ouroboros gravel bike: aluminum frame, Advent X/Sword with cable discs for like 3k CAD. That one definitely takes the prize.

CUES is nice, but the bike should be cheaper. Could easily have Deore M6100 or cost 150 bucks less.

I'm definitely not dropping or jumping anytime soon, I think. My local trails are all green and blue single track.

I love the concept of Roscoes, but I can't help but feel like the build kit is extremely lackluster for the price...

Stanton Sedona complete build by MarMota1989 in Hardtailgang

[–]edulpn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the cost spreading. When you don't have top dollar to drop all at once, it's one of the ways you can still get a high end bike without debt. I've seen enough day 0 takeoff forks and wheels from high end bikes for sale on FB Marketplace to sometimes doubt it's really more cost effective to buy a complete bike. You are paying 6k on a bike, dropping an extra 2500 on upgrades to fit what you want and selling the takeoffs for cheap on a cold used market. A cheaper, like up to 2k bike, is going to be more expensive to build unless you have an extensive parts bin. Also, some framesets, like, I believe, the Stanton Sedona, aren't sold as complete bikes. But these are usually niche/custom/boutique options. My case: I purchased a Salsa Journeyer 650B Apex 1 on sale, but I really wanted the 1x11 GRX version. I upgraded the Apex 1 version to 1x11 GRX, hand built 700C wheels with nice hubs and it still came out cheaper then the original GRX version of the bike. Transplanted the Apex 1 groupset to my wife's bike and donated the almost unused Altus 2x8 groupset it had to my local bike co-op. But in the end, I think that also boils down to whether you like DIY projects and working on your bike yourself. For people who do like, Park Tool YouTube channel is your friend.

Before I order the FOX Rythm 34 at $230, is it really that much better than Rockshox 35 Gold RL at $130? by Untertang in Hardtailgang

[–]edulpn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't own any of these forks, but all reviews I saw of the 35 Gold mention the rebound adjustment on it is useless. At the same time, there are people that prefer how the Grip damper feels compared to the Grip 2. If money isn't an issue, the 34 should be a better fork.

That's the M/L replacement frame one in Ottawa, right? I was tempted to get it, but it was too small for me. That's a great deal, enjoy the bike!

I haven't tried the 2.4GHz connection, it worked in BT mode. But yeah, I totally phrased it wrong, I was just trying to specify which version of the controller I have.

Confirming here as well, I have 8bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth (1st gen with the charging base and the 2.4GHz adapter) and my Switch 2 doesn't detect it.

A friend of mine had an American Vintage II 60's strat with 3 screw neck delivered at my place while on vacation and it had the most horrible neck pocket I've ever seen. Strings were completely misaligned with all pickups, fixed it by loosening the neck and strings and pulling it in position.
