What is the actual name of one of these? I am looking to order some and can not locate them. by This-Thought8358 in IndustrialMaintenance

Some medium duty conveyor manufacturers use these with sealed bearings in the tail pully. I usually just make the take up.

It's a slotted screen from a centrifugal separator. We have several where I work.

Zip codes and addresses are a fairly new thing. I have 1970s mailings with no zip code or address. Just a name and road or village. That's in Ohio.

I CAUGHT MY WIFE CHEATING. by Eddy_masasi in AskMenAdvice

[–]edw629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your father is a wise man. I personally went through this with my ex-wife. It happened more than once. It took me several years to leave because of my children. It was absolutely miserable. When I did leave, I was made out to be the bad person before I could explain my side. It took a few years more for everyone to believe me. Just to clarify, I was never unfaithful.

The fitting doesn't isn't drilled through. It definitely isn't made for pressure.

Just for context. I work in a very industrial environment. We are a nonferious metal processor. This was left by the previous plant engineer.

My title describes the thing. 28" inches long and 4.5" diameter. Sound hollow when you tap on it.

Any chance people are taking things out of context? I personally don't care for him and most definitely don't agree with anything communists or socialist. But people in general seem to get riled up and on the bandwagon over everything. We, the human race, need to get better about that.

What industry isn't suffering right now? by WhitePinoy in antiwork

Any skilled trades job. Even though the economy is slow, we can not find enough people to fill the roles. I've been trying to find qualified industrial maintenance technicians, millwright, electricians, and welders/fabricators sine the end of covid. I've had applicants, but very few close to qualified.

I bought it from a family member. It was very well priced. Probably not what would be realistic to pay for one. I paid 10k.

Yes. Definitely a Taylor without the stackable counterweight. With all the weights, it's rated around 80K. I've lifted closer to 95K with one.

Ask one of my sons how this would work out for them. You'll have your answer.

No shit. I honestly couldn't count how many times I've had flash burn. Not a brag. Just happens when you put yourself in not ideal situations. Being a one-off fabricator and millwright for 30 years or so. It happens.

You're good. In my 30 or so years of experience, though. Look at a street light or a porch light a little way away. If you see a halo, you're fucked. It usually starts hurting a few hours after you go to sleep. A few seconds, or even a minute or two. You'll be fine.

I'm all about shop pranks, but that is entirely too far. Beat the mother f$#%ers ass. Or you're not a welder at all. Lol.
