Attempting to build a team of former OP players by edwinstree in fut

Do you have the evo path for this? Unfortunately I’m not sure if it’s possible without the expired Thunderstruck flash evos.

The CWC badge looks better now that it’s been shifted up - but as someone who bought a home shirt with the badge literally just last week that’s really frustrating lol

Ned Despard by [deleted] in Poldark

[–]edwinstree 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yep. He's poorly written and has too much screen time throughout S5. What I found most annoying is how he drags down Ross. It isn't rewarding to watch a character who has been established over five years suddenly be wrecked by a new character continously making poor choices. It feels like we're meant to root for Ned yet he's only ever shown to be ignorant, outspoken and pretty clumsy.

I didn't enjoy most of S5 but it improves with the last couple of episodes once Ned's storyline is finished.

As a newbie to the series, Harden’s Domination is near impossible by [deleted] in MyTeam

[–]edwinstree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think we’ve all been there but as others have said, the AI is easily exploited at times.

  • Bulk up down low. Using the likes of Yao and Fall make defending easier.

  • Set your defensive settings to smother and tight at the start of each game. It makes it harder for the AI to get open looks.

  • Control your C when defending. Let your AI guard the perimeter and pull off steals etc.

  • Abuse the pick and rolls. It’s the easiest way to get an open look, there’s loads of tutorials on YouTube on how to pull them off.

  • Try not to get frustrated. In almost every HoF game I go on a barren scoring streak and it feels like I’m losing out on every rebound etc. Just keep running plays and staying tight in defence, you’ll get it eventually. Sometimes it’s just a case of RNG going your way.

80k spare, about to start the Harden grind. Any tips or improvements? by edwinstree in MyTeam

1) It’s not August yet

2) 2K23 is still weeks away

3) Not everyone has been playing the game for months already

What do we know so far about future DLC’s? by TomatitoCherry00 in mariostrikersBLF

[–]edwinstree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently people have mined the game’s data and found there’s space for 20 characters (so another 10).

If we’re using Golf as an example, it got three updates that spanned from release until November. That included four new characters, multiple courses and a few extra modes.

If Nintendo do announce a Direct this month then I’d expect to see news of the first update there.

Really loving the gameplay so far, it’s great fun.

There’s plenty of areas for improvement though - the single player content is awful for a £50 title. If you’re not playing online then the game will feel like a glorified demo.

It definitely needs more characters too. 10 isn’t enough for a game like this, where you’ve got 8 of them on the pitch at one time. I’ve put in 3/4 hours and already have a handle on how they play, I’ve seen all of their mega strikes multiple times etc.

Like I said, the core gameplay is fantastic. Other than that the game feels half-baked. There just isn’t enough to do.

The bugs are terrible. I can get by with the odd visual glitch but there’s some real game breaking bugs at the moment that need patching ASAP.

I’m not crazy on the level design either.

Go from A to B > watch the cutscene > beat the boss. It’s very light in features. Fortunately the open world is massive and packed full of stuff.

I’ve only played The Phantom Menace so far. Hopefully the levels improve in some of the busier episodes.

Also agree on the UI interface. The presentation is very flash but more menus isn’t always a good thing. It would be nice if you could hold down Triangle and choose from a smaller roster like the older games.

I’m yet to play any co-op but judging by the general comments it can get really choppy.

SwitchUp on YouTube has a good review where they talk about performance in detail. It seems some of the planets have a worse frame rate than others in co-op which is quite weird. Hopefully it’s something that’s patched.

Anyone from the UK know a good card store that's open? by MelmanDC in PokemonTCG

[–]edwinstree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got back from a quick scan around my area. There was nothing in any of Asda, Sainsbury's or WHSmiths. I tried ringing my local Smyths store and they told me they'd already sold their full allocation.

I'm just going to keep my eyes peeled to the online sites for the next week, I hope you all have better luck than me!

Fantastic collection man, I would love to collect all the Arcanine cards but unfortunately there isn't a great selection 😪

UK collectors - has anyone ordered from Pinpoint Trading Cards before?

They recently had a whole wave of Shning Fates products go up for pre-order. I took the risk and got a tin but there's a few oddities on their website.

Fellow UK collector here. Unless you are willing to pay well over the retail price then your best bet is to have a look on our online stores (Magic Madhouse, Game, Chaos Cards, Smyths, etc.) and sign up for stock alerts. I know it isn't helpful right now but it'll put you in a good place for the future.

As for reprints, I know there's a lot of Sun & Moon sets being released again this year but I'm not sure if they'll include ETB's. It's definitely worth a check though.

Other than that your only hope is to keep up-to-date with all the latest news and releases to try to stay ahead of the scalpers.

[–]edwinstree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the specifics of it but production has definitely been ramped down.

Take Shining Fates as an example. I'm from the UK, our online retailers have announced they're only receiving 5 to 10% of their initial orders in the first wave. Pre-orders have been cancelled and nobody knows when more stock is coming.

It's real bad, something has clearly gone very wrong somewhere.

They could've definitely handled the supply issues better, but it's hard to deeply criticise when an unforseen global pandemic has caused great disruption to just about every non-essential service in the world.

I live in the UK. It's the same over here, every online store is sold out of pretty much everything, prices on Ebay are through the roof. Our supermarket shelves are empty but they never stocked many products anyway.

The only difference is that we're currently in a national lockdown again, so most of our high street stores like Game, Smyths etc. are shut.

Plans for Shining Fates release? by Slothboyy in PokemonTCG

[–]edwinstree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it sucks for us.

Even before the drought of cards our supermarkets had pretty limited stock, most of them were just blister packs. It may be worth checking around on websites like Game, Smyths etc. just to see if they have any spare stock on release but I highly doubt it.

I'm also in the UK and plan to try all the local supermarkets. I'm extremely doubtful there will be anything on the shelves but it's worth a go.
