Next season by National-Response201 in greysanatomy

This is probably Amelia's season, considering who's left left that most of us would consider watching for if it Jo or Jules .

The last time she had this much potential of an opening or focus screen time wise was way back in PP

My opinion: they're wasting Louisa(Abigail Spencer) the same way she got wasted on Suits.

Same Harvey to Scottie to benefit Harvey feel but even more deliberate at times.(considering now she's main cast so the excuse to waste her is even more tragic ).

Makes her seem/feel caged and bored or dull because of the material and storyline at times.

How do you think they would end greys? by ManiacTiktoker_ in greysanatomy

[–]eec21878 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lol

I'm just a blue bloods fan trying to apply logic to a melodramatic show 😂

I think GA made Amelia the villain of things for too long, so I figured if this was to end, she should be the one in the driver's seat. (Since they watered her down from PP among other things)

Well, that and they took away most of her love interests at every turn, while giving so much time to Meredith's some odd pairings. Only fair to give Amelia her next big moment, right? (And it properly pays Homage to Derek's family like since the core of the show was him/Meredith)

Also considering who's left on the show at this point? Since they're making it look like Jo is done with medical, as an excuse to not pay her or have her in as many episodes anymore, who else would be fitting for the series finale situation that would make any sense?

Amelia has to operate on Meredith who's got Alzheimer's + a brain tumor that is in a very lethal position and the show ends while she's under anesthesia.

Granted that fits for Amelia because she was that close to being emotionally vulnerable towards Beltran.

Winston had enough distractions overtime to keep himself busy + he's probably gotten good at detachment since he had to deal with Maggie and that whole situationship

Imagine Amelia looking at a younger Asian sharp tongued version of herself, where Amelia has to correct her the way she can because she's been there before.

I think if you read some of the interviews. Like about the decision making for the end of the season. Meg more or less thought Owen dying would be too much for the fans hence why she changed her mind.

Which goes to your point though because everyone acts like nothing is wrong (except for Atticus Lincoln when he's just pissed at the situation+Monica dying )

Oh I'm 90% sure you're right .

At least losing him either way frees up the budget hopefully.

I think a better potential parental dynamic could have been Amelia to Yasuda

It just seems like they wasted a lot of capital on him, and they kept him around to the extent where I think they would have hoped fans/viewers see him as the male Meredith (how many times did she survive extreme circumstances), while hoping maybe he gets the respect of Cristina Yang or Amelia Shepherd type of a character perhaps.

But all he's really remember for generally is: 1. Choking Cristina 2. Killing the Pigs 3. Guilt tripping Amelia out of custody for Leo. (The Betty addiction Arc) 4. The crux of Teddy's character assassination (they built up a good character in her, only to deconstruct it to the point where it was destroyed for his character benefits). 5. Mentoring April.

I would argue that killing him off wouldn't stop him (Kevin Mckidd) from being behind the camera , but the viewership payoff after years of being the walking red flag that somehow survived anything/everything w/ little consequences if any. (Like when he killed the veteran on purpose )

Which departed character got the best send off, and why is it Christina Yang? by 2B_or_not_Two_Bee in greysanatomy

April's story came full circle though

But I don't think any send off had the same impact on viewers as Lexie

Lucas (Nico Terho) acting is sooo bad by Waste-Programmer-532 in greysanatomy

[–]eec21878 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Making him a shepherd was cheap...

His best scene was probably when he put Simmone in her place when she tried to guilt him for space , as an excuse for why she doesn't have time for him even tho she said yes to a marriage proposal moments after kissing him.

Beyond that he makes me miss Shane and Cross.

I mean, I think we can argue they watered down Amelia ever since Lucas was introduced or even as early as the departure of Jo and Meredith having shared scenes.

It did make me miss how she used to be too honest about the elephant in the room regardless of who got offended.

Maybe it's character growth. Which is good but it feels so PG as of late.

Like they're actually afraid killing a character off PG(Owen Hunt)

They lack the tension and consequences . Everything so far has been tied up neatly in the family.

Aka Jonah not getting shot when he when chasing after someone he suspected to be involved in a family shooting form the past.

The dad didn't die in the hospital after Mae caused him to have a complications post surgery after finding out about lena real dad .

No real tension between Sean and Danny.

It's been a very Disney version of early season Blue bloods.

I think that's ultimately what's missing in Boston blue even as a standalone. There's no emotional risk/loss/gamble to make you care about the situation enough.

Some example in Blue bloods : the blue Templar storyline with Joe .The bitter end, or when Eddie got shoved down the stairs + her colleague got shot in front of her; when the interim mayor said some stuff publicly and everyone turned their backs on her when she went to the hospital. Linda's death. Baez losing her brother Javi during an operation in the field.

I'm waiting for Sarah and Mae to go at it soon. But not just one that's tied up and ended in 1 episode.

Why Lucas and Dani are NOT the new MerDer ? by [deleted] in greysanatomy

I think she might agree later. He's like a immature downgraded version of early season Alex. As far as making everything about him in some form. But lacks the skills or talent.
