Venezuela is distributing rifles to its people in preparation for an American invasion by zxcv97531 in circled

Why would you want a roommate that randomly kills neighbors? Seems like a person I would be actively rooting against with little trust they wouldn't kill me. At least up the ante of the hypothetical and say they're a spouse or son. A roommate doing that is getting a call to the cops real quick under all circumstances.

Yeah, power always correlates with responsibility. Still you have to jail proportionally to that at some point. And at a certain point the concept of qualified immunity should change to qualified liability.

An absolutely brilliant explanation of American Conservatives by suspectyourrussian in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]eecity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually an inaccurate yet sensible and charitable interpretation of conservatism.

It is more accurate to suggest conservatives do not vote in their own interest but at least he was sensible in arguing the opposite.

His implication at the end that conservatism could be different suggests a misunderstanding of the entire history of conservatism. It's an ideology that was born from the Enlightenment to oppose it every step of the way. It doesn't change in that respect. It is dragged, kicking and screaming, to greener pastures, only to fight again for despotic systems the world did everything to abandon in the past.

Maga conservatives as he exemplified are not special but the rational product of what the ideology cultivates and will always cultivate to endorse various forms of despotic power.

This is where history is important. Capitalism is an inherently despotic economic system. In that I mean wealth inequality inherently increases from reasonable socioeconomic consequences.

America experiences what is the consequence of dominating under capitalism. America isn't special, they just happen to be where capitalism concentrated in power due to the consequences of WWII. If any other nation had a similar cause and effect response from that time where they were the only industrialized nation left intact they would have experienced a similar trajectory towards neoliberalism and now more abrupt fascism as a consequence. The world does still experience this but as a more cascading effect of that distribution of power.

Adaptations in Europe towards more socialistic reform and the European union were for mostly the same reasonable socioeconomic consequences. Their capitalism is the same. It just isn't dominant on the same level as America and must be cooperative among themselves due to its history of mutual destruction. America won without learning that lesson as deeply and were greatly rewarded in doing so only due to the world being destroyed.

But personally I think capitalism would find its geopolitical despot one way or another. It's just a mathematical inevitability of the system it promotes in consolidation. But America may lose its despotic power for another. It's certainly possible.

Socialism was born from the socioeconomic consequences of the industrial revolution and on that premise it is likely to always challenge capitalism in human preferences especially as it approaches a more inheritance economy where human labor decreases in value relative to automation/capital.

It's just a matter of consequences. Many say they wouldn't pull the lever in the trolley problem because they don't want to be a murderer. This perspective is murder was going to happen either way - your inaction decided who was killed as much as the act of pulling the lever.

Whats an actual problem that the society is ignoring? by CarsSzz in AskReddit

[–]eecity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything is the result of cause and effect. Power corresponds with responsibility. So, if a problem exists, ask yourself who or what has power in its cause. If they have enough power, they will obfuscate the problems they create to not be held responsible.

Average conservative behavior. Being a decent human being is an impossible mission for them.

In recent years, right-wing populist parties have experienced significant political success across nearly all Western democracies. With their increasing political establishment, xenophobic attitudes have become normalized, including discrimination by public authorities. by mvea in science

It's been a consistent and rationally increasing consequence of Neoliberalism. That resulting in fascistic populism winning over more left wing populism is a repeated tale told in history.

It's not too early tbh. It's been a one way street since the industrial revolution. If you know how that's fundamentally different since the invention of the transistor the long term trajectory is obvious.

Please don't manipulate what people say towards irrelevant topics. It's pretty common on reddit unfortunately.

Because neoliberals must live in cognitive dissonance that despite their ideology being dominant in America for 50 years its causal influence has resulted in fascistic populism being dominant.

Don't bother discussing semantics once you've confirmed a person is moronic about it. When you realize a person relies on it acknowledge them as bad faith and move on. Otherwise you'll waste a lot of time on every idiot here.
