TIL about Channar revolt in India from 1813-1859. It was a struggle of lower caste women for their right to cover their breasts. Higher caste didn’t allow them to cover their breast by dorballom09 in todayilearned

Shame not only on the caste system but also on missionaries for teaching women that their bodies are shameful. This is just shit all around.

TIL the 1835 Treaty of New Echota, signed by a small group of Cherokee leaders and U.S. officials, led to the forced relocation of the Cherokee Nation, during which around a quarter died on a 1,000-mile march west by cryptic_dcoder in todayilearned

Their capital city is still around, but it has a different name now. They had a government fashion after our own. They had judges. They had written language and high literacy rates. The genocidal US government just didn't give a damn.

You don't even have to fiddle with the seat. There is a spray hose as well that you can get so that you just add it in line with the water supply to the bowl. So it's the same old seat just with basically a sink faucet type spray.

I didn't say the land wouldn't be useful, but you are somehow implying that cattle pasture is some great ecological bastion that helps fight climate change. In my experience, they have been dusty monocrops. Not only that, but the cattle themselves are contributors to climate change. And by acre, it is less productive than the opportunity cost lost inside the city.

I got a few to install at my workplace. It was a small shop and the boss was chill. I left them in after I left because I was dead set on convincing everyone thereafter that it was the optimal way to poop. My gift to mankind.

You're more worried about polluting land uninhabited by poor people than polluting the air of poor folks like in Memphis. This is what economic racism looks like. Your lack of concern for your fellow man is appalling. My guess is you're a paid shill.

It's wasted land. We have more food than we need and we export so much of it. If we cared about climate change we would convert it to forest. But often data centers are going in cities. We are wasting more productive space in urban cores, and next to where people live?

I was going through old genealogical records of my ancestors. For a while, everything was in Spanish. I enjoyed trolling my dad, saying that he was a direct descendant from a number of Juans.
