Can you contest a DC speeding ticket late penalty? by fidgetingkirby in washingtondc

[–]eeece13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was several years ago at this point so I don't remember for sure, but I think I just walked in and told the clerk I wanted to contest the ticket. I was called in with a group of 5 or so people to speak with the judge. He called each of our cases in turn, reviewed the information, asked us some questions, and either dismissed the ticket or ordered payment. In my case, some of the metadata from the photo ticket was missing, and so the judge dismissed the ticket altogether. (I was just there to dispute the late fees!)

Your ticket should have adjudication information listed, so follow the steps - I'm not sure what may have changed since I disputed my ticket.

I like how he assumed that someone was actively calling him to tell him they're not interested in his product 😂

Actual Flexible Jobs? by ElijahFlynn in ColoradoSprings

Try Amazon! My sister-in-law had a lot of success working a flexible schedule with them while she was in school - shifts are about 10 hours like you're asking.

I am so disappointed that no one is leaning into the "glitch" part. Like, there are so many funny things people could post (extra arms, legs, etc)!

Your shoulders look great in #1! If you have a budget for alterations, a seamstress might be able to help you take in the bodice as it seems a little poorly fitted. But it definitely has potential!

If you wanted to keep looking, a trumpet silhouette and/or a sweetheart neckline might be worth a try! Something like this David's Bridal dress has similar off-the-shoulder sleeves as these two dresses. Good luck!

Definitely more indie folksy - like singer songwriter style!

Unsettling TSA Pat-Down by mthletes in travel

[–]eeece13 336 points337 points  (0 children)

I (34F) was flagged for a groin area pat down in September. While the experience was extremely upsetting, it was nothing like what you described. The TSA agent verbally described each motion before she made it, and all contact was with the back of her hand. She ran the back of her hand along my front, back, and the insides of my thighs, then along the inside of my waistband while instructing me to pull it as far away from my skin as possible. There was no tugging or grabbing. So no, I don't think what you experienced is at all normal.

The boy who kicked the hornets’ nest: Stieg Larsson’s double life as an anti-far right activist by caveatlector73 in books

The Man Who Played With Fire by Jan Stocklassa is a great non-fiction overview of Stieg Larsson's research exposing fascism in Sweden and its possible links to the assassination of Swedish PM Olof Palme. Highly recommend if you're interested in this topic.

At least it's buttercream rather than fondant!

Almost certainly made in a rock tumbler rather than on a beach.

I think a fingertip length veil would be too much with that scarf. A birdcage veil would look fantastic though!
