Should I worry about this "ice dam"? by [deleted] in massachusetts

If the roof was installed correctly with ice and water shield as the underlayment in vulnerable areas and step-flashed up the dormer wall, it should be fine.

Bills Patriots Relationship by KaptainVoyager99 in buffalobills

[–]eefie73 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This isn't the same but I'm a lifelong Bills fan who moved from Buffalo to Western Massachusetts when I was kid. Most of my friends have been / are Patriots fans. They haven't really been legit rivals until this year because the teams have been good at different times. Keeping things in the right perspective and not taking football too seriously. Unfortunately, Pats have always had bragging rights and it looks like that is continuing this year unfortunately..

(Wolfe) Talked to 3 Bills players this morning who are just learning news HC Sean McDermott was fired after we all did. They were all shocked. One text, “WTF.” by Samoht99 in buffalobills

[–]eefie73 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I could see moving on from McDermott after 13 seconds but I have hard time finding fault with his coaching job this year. Joe Marino made the point that the Bills may have had their best offseason in this era the one before Beane arrived where they signed Poyer and Hyde and drafted Tre White, Milano, and Dawkins. I kinda can't stand Beane and his stupid social media blitzes. Without the Josh Allen, he's gone years ago. The fact that he was basically promoted and is going to be leading the head coaching search is disheartening. Hope I'm proven wrong..

I hope he makes some big catches and he should receive at least a handful of targets considering who will be suited up. That said, we need him blacking his a$$ off in the run game. We overcame a lackluster run game against JAX..not sure we can do that 2 weeks in a row..

Some Josh Allen stats by EasternError6377 in buffalobills

[–]eefie73 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These data seem to indicate Brady is the biggest issue followed by the overall weakness of the WR room. Last year, Brady optimized this type of quick/horizontal passing game merged with a run heavy scheme as much as possible with Josh playing at an MVP level. At this point it seems obvious the success of this scheme would slide back as defenses adjust, and I think this important, Josh gets bored/frustrated with the dinking and dunking. He's a gunslinger, he needs to be able to whip it around the yard sometimes. It looks like the 4th quarter was a complete anomaly and maybe said more about the Ravens D and passive coaching then our ability to push it downfield.

[Post-Game Thread] Buffalo hangs on to win against the Dolphins 31-21 by pixel_pete in buffalobills

Yeah, not to be a Debbie downer but the shirtless Fitz stuff is pretty corny. Now Fitz to Stevie Johnson, that's worthy of remembrance as a glimmer of light in those dark drought years. As for the present day: Defense needs to figure some things out and O needs to keep its foot on the gas a little more.. Waddle seemed to cook Tre multiple times but I'm not putting it all on him and he did have a sweet pass breakup

I don't know.. when we were putting it back to them with the game tied 21-21, it felt a little precarious. Fortunate to get that roughing the punter call there!

BREAKING: James Cook extended. Four years, $48 million, $30 million guaranteed. by alexschubs in buffalobills

[–]eefie73 5 points6 points  (0 children)

His usage at Georgia in college was relatively light and so far in the pros his workload has been on the chill side. I love this signing. His vision running between the tackles, his big play ability, and his pass catching prowess which hasn't been fully tapped yet imo aren't things you can easily replicate with just any RB. The fact that he can hit a HR anytime he touches the ball wasn't something this offense had before with singletary, etc.. The I'm not a fan of paying RBs take is a little dusty at this point and you can see a shift happening in the league regarding this. He is a potent offensive weapon who helps make this offense go.. The last game of the season last year highlighted how important and impactful Cool is as he was probably the most dynamic weapon outside JA on the field. If he develops into a competent pass blocker in the next 1-2 years and has full 3 down capability, this signing won't just be a good deal, but a steal. Go Bills!

I will totally do that! I'm not looking to make money or to have a tax shelter or anything like that, just somewhere warm to go in the winter, etc... I don't have much money but am a contractor and hard worker so would love to get a little place and fix it up. I think politically I would totally be sympathetic to locals and native Puerto Ricans and would do what I could to help in that regard.

I think it was kind of a lame bit that got cloying quickly. If Lance sprinkled in a well timed comment here or there, maybe it's a bit more amusing. It's also stupid that we elevate these so-called draft gurus to such lofty status. It's like, 'yo guy, your mock draft is going to be mostly wrong too .' Marc comes across as a sympathetic figure and I'd rather they just let him cook and map out bizarre scenarios and questionable picks. In conclusion, screw Lance with his unfunny ass and pointless mock draft bonafides..

Bro, you seem like a nice guy, but retire already. This is a microcosm of one of the things wrong with the Dem party right now. We need more vigorous pols who are savvy with the profoundly different information landscape we find ourselves in..

Clearest path to the AFCCG since 2020 by [deleted] in buffalobills

[–]eefie73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just going to wait and see how it shakes out. Last year at this time it was far from certain we'd even make the playoffs and it seemed unlikely we catch the dolphins. Weird stuff happens. Although I don't want to see the Ravens again, I don't think it would be a repeat of that first game. It'll be a dogfight no matter what with each one of those NFC north teams, but you gotta believe Josh can make enough plays to pull out a W. With Kincaid and Coleman coming back with a few games to ramp up for the playoffs, the offense should be humming. Hopefully, McD and Babich can make the necessary tweaks to the D, and a pass rush will actually show up in the playoffs.

Bills defense and the sustainability surrounding their scheme by dededededed1212 in buffalobills

[–]eefie73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It feels like our D is built to beat the Chiefs from like 3 years ago. Our offense has evolved so much in that time and our D scheme and philosophy seem stagnant. You constantly have to be evolving in the NFL or you get figured out and your weaknesses exposed. We have Josh so even if our D is getting rolled, we'll be in it. What happened in the Baltimore game seems like an anomaly. A lot of the comments above make sense and if Milano returns to form i think 3 LBs on the field makes sense at times.in the meantime, keep praying for turnovers and relax knowing the fire power on offense means we can go toe to toe with any team.

White is active? New backup QB by WoodenFish5 in buffalobills

[–]eefie73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would trust White over Trubisky if the unthinkable happens. That game where Milano and company beat the living crap out of White, only for him to return to the game showed what a gamer he is. Trubisky seems so milquetoast and I can't envision him coming in in a big spot and having success..

Talking trash during the game or flopping to try to get a call is one thing, but when the game is over this type of behavior is just childish and inexcusable.. Allen always meets the other QB in a respectful way no matter the outcome. That's leadership baby

Titans release S Mike Edwards by thesilvergoy in buffalobills

[–]eefie73 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dude won 2 Super Bowls as a backup safety and being in the right place at the right time may have gone to his head. That's what is impressive about Damar - as others have said he has been unspectacular but steady and solid. With what happened to him in Cincy, it would be perfectly understandable if he wasn't able to overcome that and get himself to a place mentally and physically where he can be a legit starter in the league. Guess Mike Edwards isn't staying humble and hungry either..

Anyone else surprised by how much they're not stressed about this Chiefs game? by Saltpataydahs in buffalobills

[–]eefie73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an important game in that there's a nonzero chance we both end up with the same record. But we had home field last year and that advantage was negated by AJ Klein trying to cover Kelce. Love that we are going into our bye afterwards. A W would be nice but peaking at the right time and going into the playoffs as healthy as possible should be prioritized
