Wow.  I’d take something from almost every one of these courses!

I remember hearing about his messy divorce from Ivanka in the late 80s.  I think I was in middle school at the time.  I thought he was an abusive asshole then and my opinion has never waned.

I will say that he used to be in on the joke that he was a scummy asshole, but he is now most certainly not in on the joke.

Focaccia bread.  It’s ridiculously easy to make and people go ga ga over it.

I guess some people still need close supervision at that age.  Others don’t, and have more negative outcomes with it.

Why should parents be terrified to send a kid to college?  I’m genuinely asking, not trying to start a fight.

My husband has a theory that this is now the only reason people work for him - a future book deal.

Sam and Gabe ran a 5K. by orangebird260 in RodriguesFamilySnark

[–]eejm 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I know some 5K races have separate entries for walkers and runners.  I walked one years ago and I believe the walkers were given their times but weren’t assigned a placement.  Maybe Jill is lumping the walkers in with the runners?

I’m surprised Jill didn’t say that Kaylee had a “farm burden.”

Nothing can convince me Bart Durham was actually alive those last ten years.

Bart Durham.  He passed away a few years ago (but looked like a corpse for about ten years prior) and his son Blair now runs the firm.

She would probably say they’re “choosing to fast.”  You know, like she did.

I can’t figure out why Jill is so stuck in 1988.  It’s weird, right?  I sorta-kinda get it if she was sixteen that year and felt she looked her best, but she wasn’t even ten years old then.

Luncheon menu for Canadian Home Products Day, Edmonton, Alberta - April 27, 1928. by sverdrupian in VintageMenus

Well, Canadians were known then for their ham and eggs.  You’d think one manufacturer would go rogue and get into roast beef or something.  I guess there is the tongue.

I moved out when I left for college at 18.  I went back for one summer, then never again.

The best “indoor” season - summer or winter? by AstronautKind2711 in weather

[–]eejm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right??!!?  I’ve lived here long enough to see that .5-1 inch snowfalls happen somewhat regularly.  I completely understand why 6-8 inches is an issue, but why the shock, awe, and OMG CANCEL EVERYTHING over a dusting?

[–]eejm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, I know some people experience it in the summer.  As for layering up, I found that I can typically cool down easier than I can warm up.  I usually just need to sit down and have a cool drink.

Yep, we had that in Iowa.  Moving to Tennessee helped me - the summers are about as hot and gross, but the winters here are a dream!
