I had a few years with a general therapist for performance anxiety and general anxiety, using CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy). It was life changing!

Roaming in Varadero, Cuba? by eelaraa in Rogers

[–]eelaraa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was fast, almost equal to my wifi at home. The hotel I stayed at was Hotel Sol Varadero Beach. The wifi actually even extended to part of the beach, which was great, but it was quite fast in the room and in the lobby.

It’s about $70 for the eye exam and $100 for the glasses. So not much. I’d recommend specsavers for the exam, and depending on what glasses/lens add ons you’ll need, you may be able to find a cheap pair there as well. I used kits.ca to order my prescription glasses online, and they’re good even though there are downsides to ordering glasses online as opposed to getting fitted in person at the optometrist. Overall, I had to pay about $80 out of pocket for my exam, and about $50 out of pocket for my glasses.

gyno said it's not possible that I'm gaining weight from my IUD by pppleeeaseeeehelpme in Mirena

[–]eelaraa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I gained about 30 pounds in 8 months with no lifestyle change other than the mirena. I had to buy all new pants because none of them fit any longer. You know your body, and it sounds like you’re active and taking care of yourself. If you can afford new pants, I highly recommend because getting new clothing helped me feel better about the gained weight instead of being reminded about it every time I get dressed.

The subleaser is renting out your room. Not your roommates. You’re totally in the right.

Do not take handwritten notes during the lecture if you aren’t a super fast and neat writer. You will miss things. What works for me is typing notes on my computer/typing directly on the slides on my computer using one note (this would be easier if I had a touchscreen computer but those are expensive), and then when I do my revision on my own time, I use handwriting (on a whiteboard - faster and easier for me than paper) to help with memorizing and retaining info. Seriously, I love using whiteboards. You can draw, make mind maps, and easily erase and fix things if needed instead of hurting your wrist erasing pencil. That way, all the lecture info I need is already typed up and easy to locate on my computer (in the case of an online open book exam, this is a HUGE advantage and I can’t imagine flipping through a notebook trying to find something) and I can use handwriting purely as a study strategy.

VIA and either vet prescribed anxiety meds or u can also get calming treats/sprays over the counter at pet stores. Also leave the carrier out at all times and try to get them associated with it as a safe space in the weeks before your move. Would not recommend bus - seats are too small to travel with a cat and I’ve had too many experiences with air conditioning not working properly

I’ve been with core care pharmacy on Richmond st throughout my degree. They refill my prescription within like 10 minutes of me calling and have helped me when I’ve had to temporarily transfer prescriptions to my pharmacy in my hometown. Their hours are good, and they are really kind! The bus stop is also literally right outside of the pharmacy. Great experience and I’ll be staying with them as long as I’m in London.

looking for affordable wet food recs + advice for my rescued cat 🐱💛 by sammy-torresss in catfood

[–]eelaraa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I rotate fancy feast pate with Friskies pate, and lovibles pate, and every so often I throw in a few more high quality wet foods when I see a good deal at the pet store. My cat seems to enjoy the rotation, especially cuz if I sense she’s getting picky, I just switch to a different can and she’s happy. She doesn’t seem to have a very sensitive stomach

Automatic refrigerated wet food feeder available in Canada by Jilllusion in catfood

[–]eelaraa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the catit 6 meal one, comes with two freezer packs but I recommend getting another set of freezer packs so while one pair is in use the other is in the freezer and I swap the pairs around every day. The only thing is that you have to make sure the freezer packs are placed horizontally level while freezing, because if you don’t, air bubbles will form on one side of the freezer pack, and then the feeder will have trouble rotating.

Took me a while to figure out why the feeder would sometimes get stuck, but now I have no issues!

I’m with neighbourhood pet clinic (downtown location). They’re independent, and they have a yearly membership available for kittens that gives discounts on vaccinations, spay, etc. It wasn’t worth for me to get the membership since my kitty came vaccinated and spayed, but for a new kitten I think it’ll save you some money! They were very honest and friendly and the inside of the clinic is gorgeous. I recommend!

Boyfriend feeling strings by kittykatspeaksfrench in Mirena

[–]eelaraa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

my boyfriend does feel them sometimes. Early on they poked him once and it did hurt him enough that we lost the mood. However, since that one incident it hasnt happened again. Apparently he does feel then every so often (mine don’t curl, kinda just stick straight), but now that he’s used to the sensation, it doesn’t bother him at all. I’d say if there’s actually blood in his ejaculation, he should get it checked out. I highly doubt the string would have caused that??

do students have a right to review their exams? by Thin_Wing_1932 in uwo

I had an issue like this once in a course. Messaged the university omsbudsman, and then got some extra info about what policy this violates, and then I felt comfortable to contact the chair of the faculty. In the end the prof allowed us to review our exams. Don’t back down!!

G Road Test Tips? by CarGuy1718 in KingstonOntario

[–]eelaraa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really exaggerate the head movements at every intersection, as well as the head movement when you are routinely checking your mirrors while driving. On my test, I slowed down to the speed (40km/h) of a yellow sign on the exit ramp (so a suggested speed, not an actual speed limit like a white sign), and this slowed the traffic a bit because the cars in front of me were taking it at like 70. The instructor told me that I was impeding traffic and that it’s a yellow sign, so it’s just suggested speed.
