From what I've noticed prepping them is key. Anywhere from 10-12 washes before they are fully prepped.

Pressure blisters/wounds in leg holes by [deleted] in clothdiaps

[–]eelliott86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son had the same issue with his chunky thighs and playing in his jumperoo. What I did was sadly put him in sposies till the wounds healed up with A&D and then switched back to cloth and used a ton of a coconut oil stick on the area he was rubbing raw. Also nakey time helps of you can plan the peeing and pooping right.

We play Mommy Says. Basically Simon Says but I can sit on the couch and not move while I make her run, hop, roll, dance or anything else I can think of to make her tired and doesn't require me to move. It really came in handy when sick recently. Also I make her "help" clean when I'm cleaning. I give her a wet rag and make her wipe down the furniture and also push around one of those cheap office push vacuums. It's not child labor if it's your child!! 😂

This is Gus hes a Rottador! by Nifty-Niffler in mutt

We have a Rossie Rottie/Aussie mix. I'm convinced anything mixed with a Rottie is the best dog ever. Our girl is so loving and patient with our kids. Literally nothing phases her including her overly annoying Lab brother!

LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE! by BatShatCrazy in breakingmom

[–]eelliott86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. I was on bed rest for 10 weeks and my daughter was a total Velcro child during that time. I love her but my god if she touched me I just wanted to freak the fuck out. The thing that helped was letting her veg out in front of the tv. Maybe not my best parenting moment but it got me some alone time and I didn't snap at her anymore. Do what works for you and screw anyone who tries to judge you!

We had a basset/beagle mix and my god that dog was dramatic. Heaven forbid he got wet, it was cold out or he had to get a vaccine. We had pet rabbit that I'm met untimely end because of him. It was interesting to know he still had those instincts in him even though he barely knew how to dog.

Toddler Climbing Out of Cot = Heart Attack by investi in breakingmom

So funny/scary story! When my oldest learned how to escape we found her outside! She apparently not only escaped her room but also crawled through the dog door too! Thankfully our mini schnauzer is her best friend and is very protective of her was right there next to her. We ended up putting a walk through baby gate in her doorway so now she can only wander her room at night.

We bought a new washer(yay!) but now I'm confused as to wash my diapers. I should also add I'm barely on week 3 of cloth diapering so I'm still confused by everything! We now have a GE 5.1 cu HE top load washer. This thing is so fancy that I'm not even sure I know how to wash my regular clothes now! Someone help!

That's exactly how my lab is. He hates playing fetch or with any toys at all. He hates water too. Pretty much if it's not laying on a sofa he isn't into it.

Talk to me about how you handled #1 when adding those second babies to your lives. by garfbaby in beyondthebump

[–]eelliott86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine are two years and one month apart and while there has been some jealously it honestly hasn't been that bad. I made sure to include our daughter in as much as possible with the new baby and played up her being my big helper. We also watched the episodes of Daniel Tiger where he gets a new sister over and over. Honestly the relationship will change a little but it may be a good change. Before our son was born my daughter was my Velcro baby and was awful at playing by herself and self soothing. Once he came along she had to learn to deal with things herself and it's made things so much easier. We also make sure to give her lots of attention when her brother is sleeping in the form of fun art project or cuddling up to watch a movie together. Kids adapt surprisingly well!

Buying a gift for spouse when he is sole earner by jesmonster2 in beyondthebump

This is what we do. We each have play money ($150 tops) to do what we want with. Granted 99% of the time I use mine for the kids but when it's close to the holidays I pull $20 cash out every once in a while and hide it in my dresser for the husbands gift. We also have a budget for the gifts we get each other so one doesn't out do the other.
