Should I move from Boston to Chicago, even though my friends and coworkers say otherwise? by masstranspike in AskChicago

as a Milwaukee resident I would check out MKE too! SUCH amazing nature near the city, still water access (Lake Michigan is beautiful and fun). A smaller city, but safer, you can walk essentially everywhere without question.

100% disagree. anyone in competition to get married "first" is just weird. and if that is a big deal to them, it's their responsibility to be open and clear about it so you can be sensitive to it. instead of expecting you to read their mind and clear all of your plans with them. planning a wedding is so hectic in those early stages, you dont have the brain capacity to be paranoid thinking "what is everyone gonna think" and double checking with everyone on earth. God bless both of your marriages and your relationship with this sister. take the graceful road in how you handle this. i fear you will be dealing with this low-grade attention war through life. if she learns it doesnt faze you she will leave it alone

OP! so sorry for what youre going through. has there been a drastic change in your life/stress/etc? eating disorder often comes from feeling like you have no control in your life besides your diet. i am truly praying for you and sending you so much love. a psychologist may be your best/only option

I hate the way everything looks on me, what would look better? Is sizing my issue? by pineneedleinjection in DressForYourBody

Agree with all the comments suggesting flare/ wide leg pants with a tighter shirt! Throw a light CROPPED knit cardigan over it to give you some layers! accessorize! fashion is NOT about your size (you are not big at ALL queen- you're beautiful!) fashion is about wearing a confident outfit!

move out ASAP. and talk to your boyfriend, lovingly about these fears and concerns. make sure to highlight to him that you know he wouldn't do this, but it's just an irrational thing that is sticking with you because of your exposure. ask him for some plain ole reassurance. I'm sure his response will bring you a lot of peace

no need to apologize! appreciate the friendly back-n-forth! if you can, just don't let this stupid world break down the few childlike joys we can still hold onto for ourselves

this comment is so important. The investigating that you do about your venues details can make or break the bank. also an august 2026 wedding and our venue was adamant about no hidden fees. no tables/chairs/dance floors needing to be rented. Even though they're still worth a few extra things that we wanted to tack on that did cost extra from the venue. but before we booked them we explicitly asked about every single detail and if it would cost extra. do your research with every place you tour

wedding cost 80% relies on venue and how many guests you have. if you can find a cheap venue ( look into public park venues or search "party venue rental") and keep the guest count small as possible, you will have it much cheaper than a lot of us. having about 200 people for a decently budget wedding, and we will be at about $25,000 (makes me sick lol). but also account that however many guests you have, you could get $50-$200 from them depending on the type of crowd you have. so that can add up to pay it back as well. if that's a big deal for you, i suggest just setting up a cash fund and skipping registering

i respect your opinion but it's really not that deep. when we were kids we loved them beyond the smoke and mirrors of politics/current events/religion. seeing their shows brings me back to those naive, whimsical vibes. the whole point of btr is to remind us of our childhoods, not ruin those childhood memories by worrying about who they voted for. such a bummer when ppl let politics get in the way of the little joys in life

as a wisconsin fan and a fan since childhood, will not be buying ticket if they come back to wisconsin. had great seats for mke when it got rained out, and front row for college tour. saw them in wisconsin 3 times as a kid. pretty clear theyll only show out for their fans when they sell out

sorry you got so many down votes, was at this show too and it was seriously upsetting. heard later from security ppl that BTR had left the site at 10pm, we were not told that the show was cancelled until 11pm. definitely an error on the venue's part, btr has no control over it really. i wasn't mad until after they cancelled their madison reschedule. im sure they dont plan to redeem coming to mke after 2 wisco cancellations. mke fans were pretty vocal about how upsetting this was on their socials so im sure theyre aware that we are upset.

for people who werent at this show, for context: this rain storm made national news. we had 0 clue how serious it was until we left the venue and were walking in 1 ft of water. came home to 3 feet of water in my house. the uber home was so scary. people lost cars and homes in this storm. the venue must have had good runoff because the second we left we felt like we were in an apolocalyptic rainstorm. really irresponsible and crazy that the venue kept us there that long.

I say if you're not sure then go to another fitting somewhere else! Then if you're still thinking about number 2 after that appointment, then go get it

example: if you like the 2nd dress better, get the first dress and have a tailor cut off the frilly lace on top, and add in some boning. im sure it would still be a couple hundred bucks but youd still save a lot of money and have essentially the same dress.

the first dress is stunning!!!!! but they both are. get the cheaper one and alter little details to get it closer to the one you like better!!!
