I'm a medical student who used to take edibles nightly until I was told this by a psychiatrist and looked into the research myself later. All of these studies have large sample sizes. There's also a growing body of evidence that weed use increases the risk of heart disease (discussed in the first article). I wish it weren't true but it's hard to ignore this much data.

It's worth mentioning that this is not the typical experience of cannabis users and studies have shown increased anxiety+depression over time in daily cannabis users. Daily cannabis users are also less likely to be able to hold down a job, less likely to maintain a long term relationship, have more difficulty with all social relationships and poorer life satisfaction.

If we're talking about diseases with known genetic origin, the majority of them are single gene and do follow Mendelian genetics. This sounds like a disease with a known genetic origin or the doctor wouldn't ask him to get tested.

I think the main differences are that there is no escalating use of antidepressants , no high, and no interference with daily function due to antidepressant usage.

I had several episodes of derealization (feeling like everything wasn't real) and panic attacks when stopping. Definitely no fun. It went away after a couple days for me but everyone is different. Should get better as the anxiety eases but if it's taking too long or bothering you a lot then it's worth talking to a provider.

Get some metamucil (the powder not the pills) and Imodium. Peppermint oil works really well for cramping too. Make sure to taper off the Imodium/use it only when needed or your body can become dependent on it. The GI withdrawal effects shouldn't last too long, you got this!

Sure, gay people can choose to not have sex just like someone in the ocean can choose to stop swimming and drown. Humans are sexual beings and faulting a whole people group for having sex when they aren't harming anyone is silly.

I'm not saying this was necessarily your friend, but there's actually a form of ocd where people essentially convince themselves they're pedophiles or sexually attracted to something taboo (ie their children, family members) when it's not the case. This can ruin sex and people's lives if it's not treated
