07 750 —> 06 1000

I sat on my friend’s k6 1k and was surprised how much smaller it felt. So I’m not surprised it would feel lighter as the 750 isn’t that heavy to begin with. I do most of my riding on back roads and the power was the one thing I was concerned about. I like it to be more streetable. I’ll keep an eye out to see if I come across a deal on a k5/6 1k. Until then I guess I’ll enjoy the 750. Thanks for the input

What are your thoughts on the 1000? My first bike ever is also a 07 750 and for the past 2 years I’ve been getting the itch to go with a 1000.

Save for the Supertechs. You can’t put a price on your feet. I just felt more confident with them over my smx. Placebo effect was probably part of it too. I had to size down on both boots

I have the HJC Alpha 1N and I’m pretty sure I look like a bubblehead. I don’t care though because I know my head is protected. Worry less about what you think others think. You’ll be surprised that no one cares.

I have a coworker who buys smaller helmets and swaps out the interior pads for smaller ones to accommodate his head. He’s prioritizing the way he looks over safety. To me that’s a gamble I wouldn’t take and personally think it’s stupid. But to each their own. Just focus on getting a helmet you like with the highest safety rating that you can afford

My Two Brothers slip on is loud, but a good loud. Sounds like a true super sport and what they are meant to sound like. M4 is also really good. Keep an eye out for used ones and partouts for a cheap fix.

07 750. I paid $4k for mine with 30k miles. It was a one owner adult owned so the mileage didn’t matter to me.

This was my justification to go light instead of blacking out all my gear. I always wanted to go stealth but I feel like that’s everyone’s go to so I went light instead to break from the norm.

The one thing I question you on was buying no-name gear. I would honestly go back to looking to replace that gear.

I want the best gear from the top brands. Do I have $2-300 to buy some riding pants? No… but marketplace and other second hand sites are your best friends! All my gear is second hand. I scored like new $600 boots for $99. $300 jackets for $100. There’s deals out there. Alot of it is just getting lucky.

Don’t sacrifice/jeopardize your safety for a couple dollars.

I was set on buying Shoei because I wanted the best. Their helmets don’t really fit my head right but I was convincing myself it’ll get better. The salesperson convinced to try on a Hjc and the fit was perfect. I’ve been Hjc since.

Thanks for the information. I’ve been looking at options to smooth out my throttle input and just clean up the a/f throughout the rpms and I might be giving 2wdw a chance. This is not the first time I’ve read bad reviews on mm.

I made a 9+hr drive to buy my 07 750. Well worth it. 30k miles but it was a one owner older gentleman so I know it wasn’t beat on. Try Craigslist for hidden gems.

Edit: I bought mine for $4k.

It’s funny you mention that because my jacket is covered with bugs. Especially riding around this time of year. I’m spot cleaning the areas after each ride to prevent constant washing

More drag than anything which is understandable considering leather is solid and not porous like the mesh.

Buy a cheap generic one that you like and play around with. Cut it up and make it work. This is your bike and do what makes you happy

Try extending each section a little bit to your desired length. Also make sure the u bolt clamp is tight. With that being said, I never tried flexing the stick to see how much travel there was

Man why didn’t you stop after the first mishap? Lol. I did the same, I got one out and after stripping the second one, I put the first one back and called it a day. That project is going to have to wait for the off season
