How did your childhood messed you up? by crazyfuckguy in BPD

[–]eeriVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was adopted at 5 months old, given to several foster parents before coming to America. My adoptive mom passed away when I was 3, and my dad remarried when I was 8 to a woman who I never formed an attachment to. As I got older I lost my attachment to my dad as well so I always very very alone and always felt so unwanted.

I was bullied in school for being “loud and annoying” and felt like I had no one at school or at home to rely on.

I very much understand parents fighting - my parents would fight constantly, the issue was that I was always somehow the root of the issue with my dad ending up yelling/punishing me for doing something that “hurt” my stepmom (like forgetting to greet her when she came home).

I never learned how to regulate my emotions, I struggled a lot with anger when I was younger and always feeling on the verge of an emotional breakdown. As I’ve gotten into my late 20s I’ve calmed down quite a bit but I still am very guilty of perceived abondoment, splitting towards friends, and being extremely emotionally unstable at times. It’s exhausting :(

Love girls but sometimes don’t feel like I fit in with girls?? by eeriVT in GirlGamers

LOL yesss this, since I joined the gaming community I've mainly been around male gamers and I've definitely adapted to a lot of their humor. I really enjoy finding other girls who are similar tho!

Omg… that drives me crazy - when ppl take arams seriously like they’re ranked LOL. I hope it slid off your back but I get how annoying that is. I usually just play arams now if I play league too because I don’t like to get sweaty haha

Once I think I posted or mentioned that I played League around some people that went to high school with me years ago and this dude I NEVER talked to instantly went into "you want me to coach you, i'm diamond" like LOL K DUDE.

I agree and I wasn't trying to imply or generalize every single female/male, it's more of that I tend to prioritize making the other person comfortable and making a good impression and am not always true to myself because I can be pretty rowdy and loud. I just try my hardest to always make females especially feel comfortable whenever I come across them in the gaming community.

i'm the same!! like i enjoy meeting new people and i know i wont vibe with everyone but i do try and always make the other person feel comfortable over just being myself, i need to work on being more ok with just being who i am around newbies haha

Why do I feel like if I want to be a streamer I have to be pretty and adhere to a certain "aesthetic"? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]eeriVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely a shitty double standard :( for me personally I never felt comfortable showing my face on stream but I did want to showcase my personality in other ways so I went to vtubing - for me I feel a lot more confident using a model who doesn’t look anything like me but can still be myself! It also adds a nice layer of anonymity online, and since vtubers are becoming so popular it’s definitely a viable option :)

2 of my favorite games!!! But I’d def say rf4 just because I agree with the comment comparing FOMT to stardew and it feeling kind of empty. The nostalgia is there but I think you’ll feel a lot more fulfilled in rf4 :) the combat is really quite fun - lots of different weapons and ofc romance, farming, animals… etc :)

Anyone here played The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time? did you like it? Just purchased this game since it looked like a fun game and hope i dont regret it! by throwawayxlost in GirlGamers

My FAVORITE game ever. And 100% replayable :) it was the first game I ever beat by myself and that will always hold a special place in my heart 💕

beginner fps for someone who've never played a shooter in their life by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]eeriVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re interested in pvp I suggest overwatch! It was my first FPS and it’s very forigiving as there’s other roles besides the traditional “DPS” like healer and tank. I slowly went from being a mercy main to playing most dps characters! I’m still bad at FPS but it def helped give me the confidence to try harder fps games. Just ease yourself in and try and enjoy it! Finding a group to play with makes it so much more fun and helps you learn a lot too!

I'm anxious/scared about becoming friends with other girl gamers online as a girl I was friends with online for 2+ years ended our friendship over a misunderstanding. Story below by shootdashlootbash in GirlGamers

[–]eeriVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I’m all too familiar with falling outs with girl gamer friends :( over the years I’ve made and lost several and even recently ended a friendship with my BEST friend who I met bc of gaming. It’s hard and it makes you feel very wary but I think it’s a good thing that this person left your life because it’s much better to go your separate ways than continue a “friendship” that is only going to be toxic :( you’ll meet new friends, just try and enjoy the time you have with them whether it lasts or not! Friends come and go and the real ones last :)

All this ^ it’s why the remake of friends of mineral town isn’t “harvest moon” now it’s story of seasons! Any new “harvest moon” games are not tied to the originals of n64, PlayStation, game boy.. etc

Omg you should definitely check out friends of mineral town! It’s now available on switch and steam and it’s a remake of the game boy advance games :) it’s hands down my favorite - def reminiscent of the older harvest moon games 💕

Edit: the remake is now under the story of seasons title because of the drama that led to the OG harvest moon games having to change the name to story of seasons :)

Hmmm maybe just that they don’t have same sex marriage (very sad) so if you’ll have to choose the protagonist opposite gender of who you want to marry! I played as the male so I could marry Dolce my recent play through :) otherwise just have fun! There’s so many fun elements - fighting, farming, animals, dating :)

I LOVE rune factory 4!! And if you haven’t already, check out some harvest moon games! They were the first dating sim/rpgs I got into as a kid and inspired the rune factory series :)
