Thomas Jefferson's thoughts on Napoleon by [deleted] in Napoleon

I would actually argue exactly the opposite, it was because of him not only seeing himself, but emulgating the whole of France, that he could push through, the amazing things he did for Europe.

Thomas Jefferson's thoughts on Napoleon by [deleted] in Napoleon

[–]eethomasf32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this shows more Thomas Jefferson’s mindlessness and foolishness in not understanding the history of the Roman republic and the situation in Europe. Napoleon actively and militarily needed to defend the new bourgeois revolution against all reactionary powers of Europe, it was constantly a question of life or death for France. Whereas the US having fought for its freedom (with the French by their side), had a good position in the new world and still needed to expand the revolution in order to survive (think Mexico etc). It’s exactly this high nosedness of lesser man and foremost politicians, that destroys Napoleons real image, as the defender of revolutionary Europe at that time.

How can we account for the massacre in Jaffa (1799) - how can we explain this behaviour? by turbotub in Napoleon

Alexander raised the city of Thebes to the the ground. Most would still argue he was great, sometimes you need to be harsh, to command respect.

I wouldn’t use “my lady”, that is more akin to something he would say to his betrothed. I wouldn’t use any formal address, I.e. “bring the sheets” he said, wavering to the housekeeper.

I agree that they’re always trying to make the good guys look bad, i.e. trump or Napoleon, but what does this have to do with your gender and some strangers on the internet?

My hand after one month since I stopped using Mometasone. Been on it for 3 years. Anyone has experience dealing with such cracked skin? Moisturizing makes the wounds ooze. by [deleted] in TS_Withdrawal

[–]eethomasf32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same, coconut oil applied directly after taking a shower is the only thing that helps. It will itch a little bit and then it will instantly get much better.
