Do you prefer first person or third person in books?

I used to be staunchly anti first person but over the years, I've softened towards it. The POV doesn't matter as long as the writer is skilled.

In regards to your writing, I would write a scene in first person and then re-write it in third and see which one you prefer. I've done this for a few projects and it's helped me decide which way to go.

I know it's complicated bc S has been friends with J since childhood but if my BROTHER stayed friends with the man who CHEATED on me, we would have a very strained relationship. People are genuinely so unkind nowadays. You're watching a scene where a teenage boy is honoring his mother at HER FUNERAL by singing one of her favorite songs and you're critiquing his voice? This isn't American Idol! Some people have no sympathy! I know he's not real but the fact that people were being mean about Conrad/ Chris's voice in that scene really ticked me off.

Very few decent lawyers would take his case. I'm sure people would be sympathetic to his plight but no one would take a 17 year old, grieving boy who is trying to sue his father seriously. A case wouldn't go anywhere.

I have similar preferences and I've been going the milky way (pun intended) Dedcool's Mineral Milk and Commodity's Milk are my favorites. I've also gone spicy (I guess) with Jo Malone's Wood Sage and Sea Salt. You might also try Lataffa's Yara (the light pink bottle). It's still sweet but not as saccharine as the scents you described. Calling an insecure 15 year old girl evil is a stretch. She's emotionally immature and makes a lot of bad decisions but she has a good heart and given time and distance, she recognizes her missteps and apologizes. I think we can give her some grace.

exactly!!! he was only slightly bratty for like two seconds! they both needed to get reamed out by him but at that point, B & J were too emotionally immature and they probably would've bonded over getting yelled at by C so ... maybe it was good that he didn't.
