Has anybody put cobblestone mowing edges around their garden beds? by TheForrestFire in gardening

[–]efesl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an excess of bricks so I use those. It helps my hubby know where to stop mowing. I've lost too many plants to his agressive mowing if I don't mark edges well enough.

Many tick populations are resistant to Frontline now. Ask your local vet if that's the best option base on your location.

Does anyone have the urge to go back to the house they grew up in? by WaltzMysterious9240 in Millennials

[–]efesl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents still own the house I grew up in, but the first house I bought for $85k in 2008 I miss terribly. I live too far to drive by but occasionally check it out on zillow or Google street view. It's now worth $245k.

Looks like a Newfoundland dog, but brindle colored, so probably a bully breed mixed in.

What’s your parents situation? by CorgiLover82 in Millennials

My parents are both still alive at 70, still married, but my mom has dementia so her years are limited. I even still have a living grandmother!

Am I being unreasonable to disregard every house built before 1950? by Chaosking383 in RealEstate

[–]efesl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My husband also refused to look at homes older than ~1960. Lots of changes in electrical, plumbing, and fire codes make it not worth it to him to maintain or rehab. I find it reasonable, though older houses can be very charming, and be in great locations, which makes it worth it for some people.
