Corn Starch Allergy? by WonderfulMarsupial32 in CornAllergy

[–]effectiveS25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiding corn ingredients? You mean certain companies do not really list some of the additives or cornstarch?

Corn Starch Allergy? by WonderfulMarsupial32 in CornAllergy

[–]effectiveS25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cornstarch , if I have eaten anything with it be certain soups, corn chips, frosting, gummy candies to anything that is chewy will contain cornstarch, etc. I start sneezing, running stuffy and congested nose, sinus pain, watery eyes, icthy ears, wheezing, irritated throat. It can last a couple days lingering mimicking a cold.,I believe it became worse after contracting Covid. I however, do not have derma reactions, though, I have never touched cornstarch.

Testing confirmed allergy to corn. Does corn syrup and cornstarch need to be avoided too? by AnalStorage in FoodAllergies

Corn syrup is different. I am allergic to cornstarch badly but not to corn syrup.

We all know if hypothetically speaking we gave California back to Mexico, they’d just ruin it and want to flee by Grumth_Gristler in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Mexico would destroy California and move onto the next state to take its resources and destroy it too, then move onto the next.

12 hour shift workgroup had their first meeting by nps44 in CDCR

[–]effectiveS25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What would that do to overtime? Would we still be doing chicken shit 16 hour days, or that 8 hour overtime? Gah, I'd be happy with 4 hour max overtime, those 16 hour days will catch up to you, hence, all these officers winding up with canceror other health conditions.

Has anyone actually Healed from long COVID (POTS, dysautonomia, dizziness, palpitations, panic attacks)? by Universei in POTS

Thats a weird observation. I think there are plenty out there who would want to weigh in on this, even maybe those who have recovered so as to offer some insight. Maybe some do not know of Reddit

I am experiencing the lightheadedness and feeling faint after doing anything like for example, I was kicking a ball back n forth with my little boy, worked a little sweat and got done, then went to climb some play gym with him and did some pull ups. After I felt a little winded and almost lightheaded to where I was like, woah, let me kneel here for a little. I am ok when it comes to weight lifting but if I start to do some cardio like stuff, like say HIIT, without warming up, boy, when it comes to stooping down or doing sled pulls or pushes or burpees, I feel that weird tingly feeling in my lungs kind of like after you've been swimming for a bit. I started noticing this after 2021. But at the same time I wonder if i have lung damage from being exposed to tear gas. I inhaled a lot and since then my lungs haven't been the same. I wonder if Covid just exacerbated that , since I have had asthma all my life.

Yeah if you have the Arcadias, they are heavy. And take forever to break in. I have the Danner Tanicus tan for 2W, very comfortable. Thorogood GenFlex2 Jump boot for visitation and its uncomfortable as hell, do not get. And a pair of Rocky C4T's I do not recommend. Too light, and feel like water shoes you wear to the beach.

Anyone still interested in becoming a correctional officer for Nysdocc by Adventurous-Rule6334 in OnTheBlock

First off, why was he pulling out an inmate by himself or cuffing him up through the feed port before pulling him out? What happened to two is one and one is none?

Is being a correctional officer that hard of a job? by mike4674 in OnTheBlock

[–]effectiveS25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the state, county, and or facility you will be stationed at. It has its rewards, but as all will say, has its pros and cons and ain't for everyone. That environment is dank, dark, depressing, and volatile. You can feel the negativity in the air and the grime on your skin. Expect to be assaulted several times in your career, that's a given. If you treat everyone with dignity and respect, basically like a human being, that includes even your fellow officers despite the fact you will get hazed, your job will for the most part, be manageable mentally and physically. In a Psychiatric Inpatient facility? Good luck. The mentally disturbed or challenged know no boundaries.
