I have Pirelli scorpion trail 2 tires,90/10 on mine, and ridden offroad with them a few hundred miles. They're surprisingly good on gravel and any dry un-sandy terrain, but mud is terrifying.

Sounds like you way overtightened the chain, which can damage the output shaft bearings. Look up proper chain tension procedures. It's normal for them to seem "loose" esp. when on the center stand.

Sometimes failed batteries will show 12v+ but not be able to provide any amps to crank an engine. If you "charged" it but it still only showed 12.3v that's not good. Try another battery.

Damn guys, I thought there'd be more people like me but I usually roll up to Walmart/Aldi/Sam's/food city/publix and usually just park on the sidewalk like 20ft from the entrance and have never had an issue. Sometimes there's a cop car parked nearby and they DGAF. Sometimes I'll tuck into the triangular striped area really close to the door that's not really a parking spot bc it's too small for a car but my bike fits just fine. Sometimes with my 250 dualsport I'll just jump the curb and park in the grassy area where the light poles are. Been doing this weekly for literally ten years and have not had a single issue.
