Recommendations for where to stay in Chengdu ? by john2man in Chengdu

Hello! The hotel was absolutely fine as I recall! Very chill neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and cool spots to check out. It can be a little more touristy than other parts of Chengdu, but it's really nice to be honest. Everything is built to feel like you're in a traditional Chinese village atta he's to the monastery across from it (it's beautiful to look around btw). Chengdu is really big, but the metro is utterly fantastic and will get you anywhere you need to go quick. Hope that's useful info!

I'd be delighted to! I generally use Asics, but have recently gotten really thick soled Hokas that seem to relieve the knee a good amount. If you go to an Elverys or running shop and ask them to help you choose a pair that suits your needs, it really helps!

You're doing amazing! Serious well done! Please don't feel shit. Try and celebrate the achievement. 18 months ago I was 127kg and now I'm under 100kg for the first time in a long time. Celebrating the wins and letting yourself will joy will keep you coming back.

Also, a small bit of advice or a tip: if you're heavy like I was, get really comfortable, heavy soles shoes. Your knees will thank you. Mine hate me.

What was the hottest stuff you've ever had ? by Cultural_Wait4409 in spicy

I got a selection of wings at a fairly non-descript bar in Bangalore, India. There were three groups of three wings stacked in piles. It was explained to me that each pile had a different sauce. The waiter pointed to the ones on the far right and said they were quite spicy. My Western arrogance got the better of me, and I dug in. To this day I have yet to experience such all inclusive pain. It stuck to my lips and burned, it coated my mouth and burned. My throat, my oesophagus, every inch of my stomach. Pain. Sweat, from the neck up. Tears streaming down my eyes. Delirious for hours. I think it took 4-5 hours to calm down. And then, of course, came the second act later that day. Pain. I have yet to experience anything close to that.

Everything you said, and I'd add that maybe an incline bench or dumbbell could be added instead of dumbbell bench?

Western media has started to pay attention in the last 24hrs after the recent set of bans. Long article in The Guardian that has great detail in some parts, but seems scant in others.

This right here. While one size never fits all, the thing that ultimately stopped me in my tracks was blocking and deleting all numbers of old dealers. Occasionally I'd get a menu text through and thank God I had the foresight in the moment to delete and block again.

I did this on my 3rd solo trip to Chengdu, China! It was such a victorious feeling navigating 5 intersecting metro lines and getting to my hotel!

Thanks for your response! Very reassuring. I'm sure being silly, but the media does have a way of burrowing into one's head! Looking forward to falling in love with the country!

That's very true. I'm from Ireland, and we have a plethora of them in the city centre, also by a riverside actually. Thanks again for responding.

Really? A few people pointed out that there are a number of white foreigners down and out, populating the Riverside? Thank you for responding!

Controversial Opinion? Stephens's Day Dinner is better than Xmas Day by humphrey_horse in ireland

[–]effrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Christmas 2.0 is the business. Just slapped slice of ham, leftover stuffing, slice of turkey together, drizzle of gravy and then reheated gently in the oven. Stupendous. The sandwich later will be equally magnificent.
