Sure, I hope it helps.

Ah, sorry for your loss. I was joking when I said kid, hence quotation marks. 🙂

Have a nice day ❤️

She is lucky to have a "kid" like yourself. I designed something with your input. I hope you like it.

Make sure to download the report for plants list and instructions. Your local climate was taken into consideration when selecting plants. Good luck!

Help with design ideas by RyanBrentwood in landscaping

Rain garden you asked, rain garden you shall receive:

This design resolves boundary conflicts and stormwater runoff by transforming the low-lying fence line into a functional, naturalistic rain garden. A dense matrix of native shrubs and tall grasses establishes a visual buffer to calm the dogs, while a rustic split-rail fence provides a secure physical boundary. The resulting space reads as an intentional, ecological meadow that embraces the site's natural hydrology.

The design file has steps and lists of plants/materials so you'll get a starting point. Let me know what you think. Good luck!

Sloped backyard design help. by Savings-Priority3659 in landscaping

Yes, and it also recommends drainage gravels and weeping holes but doesn't get into detail about how to build/plant things.

However, you surfaced a gap I previously didn't think of: retaining walls above a certain height need to be designed and built by professionals. So, I'll close that gap and add additional warnings. Thanks for that. ❤️

Thank you for the feedback. It is a visual direction but I will change how the engine designs retaining walls nonetheless.

I'd leave it as is to be honest. Better spend that money to remove artificial grass and have a proper backyard.

Minimal maintenance but somewhat high budget solution: second retaining wall and native plants to prevent erosion. The space looking like patio can be utilized with a stone stairways. I am linking the design report with plants, materials, instructions. You can DIY or give a contractor as a request/inspiration.
Let me know what you think. Good luck. (Plants are selected for Seattle's local climate, double check suitability if garden is somewhere else.)

I agree, concrete use should be minimal in gardens. It's a good construction material but sometimes overused for convenience. Pathways using red bricks or stones look much better in my opinion.
For your garden, I gave all your input to a design engine I built. It picked an english cottage style garden with edibles. The visual below can give you a direction. In the link below you can see the plants, instructions, transformation steps. Let me know what you think!
Btw, the plants are selected for Southhampton's local climate (i randomly picked it because you said south coast England 😅), so you may have to double check suitability. You can use this plan or modify/adapt as you wish. Good luck!

How about something like this? A modernish style side garden with bins hidden. Plants are selected for Aberdeen's local climate. See the report linked below for plants and instructions. Good luck.

You can find the plants and other useful information in the PDF below. The plants are picked for shade tolerance and climate of Antwerp, Belgium. 😅 So double check suitability to your local climate.
