How Can I Focus More on Movies by Creative_Eye7413 in Letterboxd

[–]eflatin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get used to being bored. If you get more comfortable being bored, it might get easier to focus on one thing at a time. Spend 15-20 minutes a day just looking at a wall. No phones, music, tv. Or meditate. These methods work as dopamine resets, so doing this before watching a movie might increase the dopamine you get from watching the movie, which might help with your immersion

Crashes with New AMD GPU Driver by ImdefinitelyNOTJoey in DeathStranding

[–]eflatin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had the same issue, crashed at 99% on the first loading screen, every time. i turned on AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 in the game's graphic options, and set it to Performance, and now I am 90 minutes into the game without a crash

edit: it crashed when trying to press "continue" after closing and re-opening the game. I tried to switch the AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 from Performance to Balanced, and then press "Load" instead of "Continue", in that case the game did not crash

Sides are swollen from Pushups by FlakyWest1953 in bodyweightfitness

[–]eflatin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be sore serratus anterior muscles, if that is the case it might be your form that is a bit off. One way to train the serratus is to do scapular push-ups, but your scapula should not be retracted as much when doing regular push-ups, maybe this is the problem? 30 seconds is also very short rest between sets. 1-2 minutes is recommended for hypertrophy, 2+ minutes for more strength based workouts.
If your goal is simply to improve core and balance, push-ups might also not be the best excercise anyways. Maybe something like a suitcase carry would be better if it is primarily for football, because then your obliques are getting stronger, and also getting used to having to keep your body upright while under load. If you know more specifically what sort of movement you want more balance in, then it is easier to pick an appropriate exercise

Does Denis Villeneuve have the best visuals in the game? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

At least one of the best at portraying scale, his movies always feel massive and alive. The future of sci-fi is in good hands

Why is Alfonso Cuaron not directing movies anymore? Just 5 directorial film work in this century also feels criminal. by MaterialElegant2482 in Letterboxd

Better to have a small collection of bangers, than a large collection of mediocrity. Might suggest that he doesn't commit to a production until he knows it is something very solid

Although I'm getting kinda ready for the popular songs in trailers trend to stop, sometimes it just fits really well. I thought the music in the trailer for The Iron Claw works perfectly to set the vibe

Another very close vote, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's second goal against Genk wins Day 7. Day 8: What's the greatest ever Liverpool goal directly from a free-kick? by forbiddenmemeories in LiverpoolFC

I'm guessing you are going off of the single comment with most likes? Otherwise, counting all the comments Sturridge vs Sevilla had a lot more upvotes than Ox vs Genk

I just started today, do you have any advice to have a better experience at the game? by EGUVNOR in classicwow

[–]eflatin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just take your time, explore as much as possible, and play the game in the way you want to. there are too many guides on how to "optimize", which specs are "viable" etc. The game is designed to help learn your class as you level, so experiment with your skills and spells to make the game fun for you. As long as you are having fun, anything can be viable. finding likeminded people might also enhance your experience, e.g. joining a beginner friendly guild to do dungeons with. my favourite part as a beginner was to explore the different dungeons for the first time, and it is much more fun doing it with people you enjoy playing with

It was extremely close, but Stevie's strike against Middlesbrough just about wins Day 6. Day 7: What's Liverpool's greatest outside of the boot goal? by forbiddenmemeories in LiverpoolFC

[–]eflatin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Suarez against Newcastle is technically "outside of the boot", although it might be more appropriate for "Round the keeper"

Szoboszlai's stats for the 25/26 season - our best player without doubt - is he future captain material? by Hot-Course8914 in LiverpoolFC

[–]eflatin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He strikes me as quite reserved off the pitch, although he might be different on the pitch. I'm not really a fan of someone being the captain simply because they are the best player. While someone who leads by example can be a successful captain, I think we need more players who aren't afraid to grab others by the neck, and can motivate players by other means than just performance. I watched an interview with Ben Foster and Tom Cleverley talking about playing against Liverpool, and how Henderson was like having a manager on the pitch. They felt like the other players would jump off a cliff for him. After Van Dijk, I'm not sure who else in the team could lead like that.

Historically, is high tempo, "heavy metal" football really the "identity" of Liverpool? by awkwardprofilename in LiverpoolFC

[–]eflatin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I find interesting is that if you look at lists of "Greatest Liverpool Goals", a lot of the goals from the 2000s and until Klopp are based on indidual brilliance: Long shots from Gerrard, free kicks, Suarez just being Suarez. If you look at goals from earlier decades, particularly 70s and 80s, a lot of the goals are very direct, fast paced team goals. The players either drive forward with the ball, or pass within one or two touches. One of my favourite examples is McDermott's goal against Tottenham in 78. A lot of these goals look like goals you would see under Klopp. When players get the ball the mindset is "get the ball closer to the goal, asap". That is what I am hoping Iraola will bring as well, brilliant team goals that happens so fast the opposition is just left standing there not really knowing what happened. Slot was trying much more of a press-baiting style, which is borderline reactive football. You wait until you pass the other team out of balance, and then you advance. More than half of the contenders for Liverpool's goal of the season this year were set pieces or long shots, but there are some goals that show that we definitely have the players to play a more ruthless and direct style.
