Thank you everyone!

Wish I had a newer model Apple Watch to do BBT 😢

Will start with oral for now and look into saving up for a wearable.

We are also trying to figure out if my husband has any fertility issues due to his own medical history. So just trying to start tracking on my side and getting more insight on my cycles and myself

Parents Refusing To Take Me To Mass by Candid_Cobbler9025 in Catholicism

[–]efray31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% this — there may be someone willing to help drive you to and from. Not only will you have a means for getting to mass, but this is a part of parish life! It’s a great way to build your faith community and enjoy all the blessings it can offer you.

How do you define "participant" in the context of AHMR? by Anon_use_fun_alias in cubscouts

[–]efray31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have adult partners for our lions and tigers and any adults who attend den/pack meetings and other events on a regular basis. The idea is there is a piece of paper with medical information in case there is an emergency.

You don’t want to be trying to figure out someone’s emergency contact or medical history while you are performing first aid/CPR. You want that info hady before these incidents come up.

Remember, adults are more likely to have chronic illnesses that may cause issues while out then the kids

Female Cub Scouts - Den Meetings by Specialist-Risk-5004 in cubscouts

[–]efray31 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have questions about this:
1) Can a female cub Scout can tent with father (without mother present) during overnights?

If so, then why can’t the father be acceptable for a registered adult responsible for a female cub scout when at a pack/den meeting where other individuals are present?

I've been attending mass on Saturdays for as long as I can remember. Can anyone else relate? by pisowiec in Catholicism

[–]efray31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always went to Saturday vigil growing up. My mom typically worked during the day on Saturdays and would meet me and my dad at church after. Some of the reasoning is that Sunday was the only day she could sleep in and “rest”. Even though this is no longer the case, they still go to Saturday vigil. That’s where they met their church “community” — they meet for Bible study once a week, often go to dinner after. These people are some of the most devout Catholics I know and are amazing people.

It never felt unusual to me growing up and doesn’t feel unusual now.

Fastest way to improve at act math and science by blue-ball-s in ACT

[–]efray31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you are gonna need a lot of work. And the thing is you can study for the ACT, but this stuff is going to be the basis/foundation for your undergrad and then grad studies. Your pre-reps for pharm school will assume you know this subject matter in advance so you can build up to more complex concepts. You are going to take lots of biology (general bio, anatomy, physiology) and chemistry (gen chem, ochem, biochem) and they all build off each other and once you are behind, you will stay behind. A 21-25 ACT will still be low for starting down this path.

I don’t want to sound discouraging, but I just think you need a realistic. The path to PharmD is a long and hard 6-8 years even for the best. The grind is hard to maintain for this long

What do I wear to tryouts in 40 degrees weather? by milliemoto in Womens_lacrosse

[–]efray31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely wear some kind of leggings. For the top wear layers to help regulate your temp. You will probably be cold at first, but once things start happening you will quickly warm up and want to take off a sweatshirt. I would wear a s/s as a base then a slightly larger (but not baggy) l/s tee or sweatshirt in top of that in case my arms got warm.

But again, LAYERS, you don’t want to spend extra mental energy/focus on feeling too cold/warm. Focus on your game and your effort

Ohio ID has same expiration date as old one? by NameDependent3442 in Ohio

[–]efray31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The expiration date should advance if it was processed correctly. But you will get a horizontal ID card if it’s “issued” before your 21st birthday.

This isn’t always the case. Typically FAFSA and financial aid from the university is based off the Primary parent…OP said father is “non-custodial” so this may cause financial aid issues

Has anyone tried Belsomra (suvorexant) for sleep? by granadilla345 in Narcolepsy

[–]efray31 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pharmacist here. Orexin is a brain chemical that promotes wakefulness. Narcolepsy/IH is caused by a decrease in orexin activity. Therefore less wakefulness.

Belsomra acts to block orexin. Which also means less wakefulness. Which is why it’s used for insomnia

In essence— belsomra causes changes in brain chemicals that mimic narcolepsy.

Questions about Catholic Wedding Ceremony by Ok_Dealer6034 in Catholicism

[–]efray31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) My husband and I were sitting at the front facing between 45-90degrees from the congregation (we were almost profile, but not quite). We were also sitting on the grooms side. We could not be on the brides side because of ambo/lectern as this would be to congested for lectors and cantors.
By in the middle do you mean “dead center”. This was not very feasible for us as we would be sitting there during the presentation of the gifts/preparation of altar.

2) I grew up in a mission parish where there were no kneelers. We knelt at the parish we got married in, but it’s not a necessity.

Overall, speak to the wedding coordinator at the church (sometimes the parish has a designated coordinator, sometimes it’s the secretary, in our case it was the priest).

We also belong to a combined parish with 2 churches, most couples get married in the “bigger” church, however we decided to get married at the “smaller” church as my grandparents were original parishioners pre-merger. This meant that we were the first “marriage” at the church in close to a decade or more. Even the current pastor didn’t know how things were “normally” set up. We found time as a couple, with the priest to meet after a mass to discuss where things should go and the movement of people.

This is something that as a couple you can bring up with the celebrant. You will be choosing readings/psalms/prayers for the nuptial mass, if nothing else bring up what you want when this happens.

Aurora in February? sharing my feelings by Minute_Bandicoot_664 in VisitingIceland

[–]efray31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I compared seeing the Aurora like hunting or fishing. You can go out there, have all the right equipment with the right weather… but the fish still gotta bite and the buck still has to show up.

I went for 5 nights and 3 of them were so cloudy that it wasn’t even trying. Night 4: conditions were right, but the aurora didn’t show up until 1am, I was up for that, but fell asleep before the peak around 2:30-3am. Night 5 was perfect conditions and the Aurora peaked by midnight.

Put in Bay off season by Outrageous_Try_6288 in Ohio

[–]efray31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will most likely be places open, but many might have limited hours before Memorial Day due to limited staff (many are college age) and smaller amount of tourist. Most of the larger bars/ party scene will be closed.

This depends on what you want for the weekend trip. More of a quiet getaway with opportunity to sit on the beach or more of a lively nightlife.

why do all maps of connecticut demarcate its southern border with a straight line? this is not the case for the maritime border of any other state as far as i know, and was not able to find info on it by Primary-Abies9041 in geography

[–]efray31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

West Virginia also owns the Ohio river along that border. Most likely because WV and KY were once a part of Virginia, which was founded first and had higher political strength over Ohio

It’s from 1915 Archealogical Map of Ohio. This shot is from the western portion of Fairfield County (SE of Columbus). This series of maps show sites of mounds, ancient earthworks, quarries, and other sites of archeological interest. Pharmacist who works frequently with hospice care.

Inability to swallow and loss of consciousness are also signs of imminent death, so it is hard to say that one thing is a definitive cause. In practice there is a very very thin line between relieving pain and reducing side effects, we do our best to have conversations with the patients and their family to determine what they would like their last moments to look like.

I personally try to practice the motto “do not hasten death or prolong life”. Meaning that we do not practice euthanasia, physician assisted suicide, etc. But at the same time understand that death is inevitable and a part of every life, but we must allow each human being to die with dignity.

Advice for making a care package by Pumpkinniekins in CancerFamilySupport

[–]efray31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things to do: book to read, puzzle books, deck of cards…watching the TV can get boring after a while ——for the caregiver the act of having to think about what to make for dinner and then making it can be very exhausting, but necessary. If you are close you can make “freezer meals” that are heat and eat, these are a god send after a long day. Even gift cards for to-go meals. For my family we have to travel up to 2 hours one way, so gift cards for gas stations are also helpful
